Quick and to the point. I show how to carefully disassemble your PS4 DualShock 4 (DS4) controller till you get to the battery, and then I show how to remove the old one and install a new one. I then show how to put things back together. Should work on all models.

Variations you're referring to are what's known as the original V1 controllers, and then the newer V2 - the V2 are the ones that had a different connector and are the ones you'll typically be buying new in box these days. The V2 are much better and have much better battery life - most of the ones that need a battery replacement will be the V1.

Make sure polarity is correct with multimeter. Otherwise probably get some magic blue smoke lol
