floridasportfishing.com/subscribe - Florida Sport Fishing TV S02/Ep01: During this first episode of Florida Sport Fishing TV 2012, not only did we see the space shuttle being towed to Texas but we got into a solid dolphin bite. We caught fish trolling and absolutely wrecked them on bait aboard our new Mercury powered SeaVee 390. The Gulf Stream was hot on this day with super clean water and solid, well formed weedlines loaded with life. New videos every Sunday 9PM.

👍 My basic setup is a nice fat goggle eyes w/ a 3'0 circle ⭕ hook thru his nose. Free-linining in 90-300 feet off San Remo condos just N of Boca Inlet. Hot Action. Thanks for the update 👌

When trolling for dolphin, 6-10 knots is ideal depending on spread. Artificial skirted lures can and should be pulled faster than natural strip baits and rigged ballyhoo. Conditions will also play a role with calmer seas equaling greater trolling speeds. - Capt Mike

I was running the boat from the tower and I had set one bait in the shotgun position way, way back. The rod was behind me in a rod holder. We hooked two dolphin which the guys down below were fighting from the cockpit when the shotgun bait got blasted so I fought the fish from the tower until they had their hands free.- Capt Mike

What was in your spread? The other day we caught a nice little cow just trolling off the gulf of California. The problem is there are very few to no fish being caught. I'm thinking of changing my spread and I would love some tips.

Hey, my name is Joe. I am fifteen turning sixteen and I am an avid offshore angler. I also dabble a bit in inshore angling but I really do love offshore fishing. Anyways, I live in Jamaica where I am from but I have to move back to Florida which is where I lived for a few years. I want to continue my hobby of offshore fishing but I have very few connections in Florida. I am moving in August so I will be there shortly. I was wondering if we could set up some meetings so I could go out on a few trips with you guys because I really truly love fishing now and even when I was a little boy. Let me know what you think. I have a PENN Spinfisher V 8500 paired with a PENN Rampage boat rod.

if you want to save money put your line from your reel onto a spool then put it on another spool to reverse the line then pit it on your reel the line on the bottom of the spool is brand new no reason to get rid of unused line.

Just watched this video and was a bit taken back by the small size of the dolphin fish you guys were keeping. Florida has plentiful large, mature Mahi's and I'm not understanding why you guys keep so many small ones!

Hey I'm thinking about targeting dolphin in south Florida out of government cut and don't know exactly where to go.. I guess you go straight out until you find sargasm but I heard people say that the dolphin are usually in the Gulf Stream... Any suggestions?

The Relentless Fishing Team Head offshore while constantly keeping a sharp eye out for floating debris including weediness, birds actively working the area, etc. Sometimes you'll catch them in 100-300 ft and sometimes in over 1000 feet, so keep your eyes and options open. Bring some chunks or live bait to keep them interested when you run into a school. Good luck and thanks for watching - Capt Mike

Why keep such small fish? When I was in the Bahamas we caught 50-75lbs bulls. When I see you guys get excited over 20lbs it seems weird and unlikely anyone would keep that size of a fish

I agree, I have to. But everything they show on an episode is sell sell sell. Same thing with Florida Sportsman magazine. Try going 2 pages without a full page ad selling something. Years ago, I tried to get into the Oberto redfish cup here in St Augustine. I was told my boat wasn't big enough and didn't have 2 live wells so I wasn't allowed to enter. Turns out I caught a 8.5lb red that would have won the friggin thing. One of the anglers in the tournament seen me catch it and tried to buy it off me for $100. I told him $1000 and he looked at me like I threw shit in his face. Caught him on a Walmart (Shakespeare) rod and apiece of shrimp. Walked by all the snobs at the dock with their $300 rods, 40K boats and sponsor packages with big ol shit eating grin on my face. Times have changed now. I have a 17 ft Mako Skiff CC, and about $1000 worth of Penn Battle 2 rod and reel set ups. But I always try to remember it isn't the sword that kills, its the swordsman.
