Man, Akala never misses a beat...gangster culture and its various; forms... people don't think for themselves anymore. In many ways, it's a curse and a blessing to be black because you tend to see the world more clearly and beyond what is universally portrayed.

All 5 panelists spoke deep. What the bloke at the end said about so many professionals profiteering off the dysfunctionality of youths and criminals is so true.

Im the bloke who asked the question...they edited it! it was actually directed towards david cohen, the host and camilla. He cut the debate after Akalas reply...cos they was profiting hugely. Kids Co got £20 million the previous year and are the largest employers of psychotherapists after the NHS. They cut that section of my question out, also. Lol!Catch me at www.mentoringworkshop.co.uk

This was a great conversation, welldone. There needs to be one of these events for Black girls. 'Being A Woman'. #WhiteSupremacy + #Poverty + #Misogynoir + The UK + Western Ideals of Beauty eg. #Colorism, Hair Texturism etc how does that effect Black British women?

The reality is, Western ideals of beauty and white supremacy will not change to accommodate black women...Sorry to burst that thought bubble if you actually think that is going to happen. It's never going to happen. Blonde hair and blue eyes has been the Western standard of beauty for 500 years. Why do you think the West would change that for black women? I am a black woman. I don't delude myself with these types of questions. I don't even care what the Western standard of beauty is. What is YOUR standard of beauty? As far as I am concerned, people need to stop playing the victim, and take responsibility.

I never said that I thought western ideals of beauty and white supremacy would change to accommodate Black women, alas there is no bubble to burst. The western ideal of beauty obviously has had a huge detrimental effect on many black women throughout the uk, I'm glad that for you white supremacy has not effected 'YOUR' standard of beauty and that you are not a victim and you've taken responsibility etc. Your story isn't shared by every Black woman in the uk.
