It's been years, but, I still can't believe the incredible cast of this film. I can't remember such a concentration of world-class actors, used the way Anurag has here, in any other film in recent history, Indian or otherwise. This film set a benchmark that's yet to be paralleled imho.

I remember when I watched the movie for the first time. I was so happy that its my neighbouring town that's been shown here. Wasseypur is like a two hour drive from where I live. So, the story connected with me as we had heard these stories of Dhanbad while growing up and also the crimes regarding the coal mines, sand mines, iron theft, scrap metal business is what happened in my city too during those times.

A friendly suggestion, whenever you guys do small talk or interrupt during movie scenes, don't remove the video area off the screen. It disturbs the flow of the scene. Let the scene keep playing while you guys small talk. Thanks!

Apart from Manoj Bajpayee & Nawazuddin, you are going to be introduced to many other finest actors in this film. 05:28 The actor who has played the older role of Nasir(servant of the Khans who is hurting himself), who is narrating the story & the singer of the background song 12:04 "ek bagal me chand hoga..." is Piyush Mishra. He is one of the finest actor, singer & poet as well, with whom this is probably your first introduction. 09:54 The actor playing Shahid Khan is Jaideep Ahlawat, whose web-series Paatal lok(available on Amazon prime) should be your next reaction after finishing GoW. Many actors are yet to appear, which we will discuss later.

Directed by anurag kashyap, who also directed gaitonde's parts in sacred games. Gangs of wasseypur is the only movie indian movie in the guardians top 100 movies of the 21st century ! Inshort, they saved our asses internationally :P But what makes gangs of wasseypur special is that it's not trying glorifying gangsters, but is actually making fun of them

Indian movies were already popular in Russia, China (Aamir khan), Africa (Nigeria and others), South Asia, Indonesia and south east asia, so I don't understand which 'international' you're talking about. If you're talking about pandering to Western Award Systems, then yes. But don't combine western film merits with international popularity. Two very different things.

The movie is a indian reply of The Godfather.......A Cult, Violent and Loved Piece of Cinema, it's okay if you don't get many small things because it's full of local and regional punches just like any other artistic films

After the gangs of wasseypur movies, please do web series panchayat, it beautifully shows the problems and trepidations of people in extremely poor rural India with lots of humour present in the show, it would be an introduction to one of the finest production house of this country, TVF for you guys.

You guys should have watched the series PAATAL LOK first before this film, coz then you would have recognised many more actors like Jaydeep Ahlawat etc. Anyways, do watch it after you complete this 2 part film, if possible.

GoW made its worldwide debut at Cannes in 2012 to a standing ovation....this original version clocked in at a massive 5 hour 20 minute; it was then split into 2 films for domestic release. Google around and you'll find the personal note Martin Scorsese sent Anurag Kashyap expressing his appreciation for the movie. IMO, this is real pioneering work, pulling Bollywood (ok the Indian film industry to be PC) into a different direction and towards a more global audience; it will stand the test of time for decades to come

Left side person in white t shirt, you please concentrate on movie rather than speaking 🙄 and you both should talk your options at the last of the video, not while watching the movie. People don't like to watch your videos because you speak nonsense than trying to understand & enjoy the movie. This is harsh truth, so please take it as feedback

There won't be a reaction then mate. We need to break up the screen on screen time or the video isn't going out, plain and simple. That's our reaction style too, and I can appreciate it won't be for everyone, but unless the copyright laws loosen then it won't be changing. There isn't any harsh truth, I've heard it a million times already and there's nothing can be done about it. Also we just flat out aren't going to sit like mutes for nearly three hours, the whole point is we're 'reacting' to what we see.
