NOTE: In light of the events that has transpired within the FGC, I am aware that the tech known as "RockCrocking" has been renamed to something else as the original name refers to an individual who has been identified as an abuser. I unfortunately recorded this guide before the events occurred, and thus was unable to change my script without delaying the guide. While I do use the term here, I just want everyone to know that I DO NOT support or condone RockCrock's actions, or any of those who were exposed. I stand with the victims, and I want to make that very clear.

@@sonpham3438 Compared to most Fighting games I think smash is pretty hard. Hard combos are cool and all. But smash has soooooo much depth. With so much movement, neutral, and general game knowledge required to be good at the game. When you compare this to most fighting game's neural (just move back and forth and jumping.) You end up with a much more difficult game to play. Easy to learn very hard to master l

With that being said, I do want to try and expand my content out to guides/tutorials of other characters. When you learn, adapt to, and then thoroughly interpret your acquired skill+knowledge in a way anyone can understand (this great video,) you show competence and promise. No doubt your future content will be worth our time to view and hopefully yours to create. Very long way of saying I like this guide and learned some new things. Expanding to other characters will also help grow and diversify your audience. The format of this guide is straightforward and works well for me, so don't deviate too far from it in future guides. You got my vote for expansion. Thank you for creating

The best part about playing Ganondorf is that just by picking the character you're already in their head, nobody wants to be the guy who loses to Ganondorf. The comment about the fear element of fighting Ganondorf is very much a reality and in all hoensty can probably end up being his greatest tool.

Up smash while not as absurd as his smash 4 variant with TWO FRAMES OF END LAG, is still really safe when you hit with the back part of the move. It’s a pretty decent neutral tool as it doesn’t leave the opponent with much to challenge him with other than back peddling

I'm nothing less than a personal legend when it comes to my Gannypoo, and so I like to watch all the tutorials on him. You have the best one, and I mean that mostly due to how you add enough meat on the theory of playing him and you handle it as cinematically as a video talking about the Gerudo Genocide, but mind you my Gannon plays differently than yours. I handle every kill with sobriety when I'm playing as him, just because I'd never want some stranger to think they're my first victim or something. It's also cool as all hell to see him standing perfectly still, but his animation cycle making him tremble just slightly as a formerly confident link is ko'd. Other than that, great job, definitely helped me, won't deny, so I'll help you with a word I've made up today, which is Ganxiety, which I apply to the buildup of fear and respect that stays with your opponents throughout the match/matches

Fr, he needs more options. His Utilt should have a quicker light-input version, his aerial down-b should ledge cancel, and above all he needs another mobility option to *slightly* aid recovery offstage- obv his Ocarina of Time float. I think Nintendo could easily implement all of that in a balanced way.

Jab is quick and pretty strong. I don’t have much to say about it. You can use it and be pretty safe and you follow it up with a f tilt or down tilt or a side special depending on how your opponents reacts. Forward tilt sends at a ridiculous angle at the ledge and is very powerful. If you space a Nair well on approach and hit shield, this is a good follow up option to mix in. Up tilt is a good option at the ledge (sparingly). Not good against characters who can reach you with their get up attack. Breaks shield and you can be confident throwing it out very sparingly in neutral at opponents in shield who have a habit of rolling back or spot dodging, at least when spaced properly. Down tilt has a lot of range and lowers your profile. Good option to follow a jab or forward tilt that connects on shield. Will help you either poke or possibly evade an out of shield option. Also is abused by most players after a successful side special to punish missed techs. Nair is your best approach tool. It is very spammable, but still need good spacing. Can hit opponents behind your for some dumb reason. Nothing much else to say, it’s Ganondorfs best move. Forward air is your kill air. Nair can kill too, but forward air is dumb powerful. Good for shield pressure too. The end lag is not so bad. Back air is your kill air 2. Great for edge guarding opponents with vertical recoveries. Great for catching jump from ledge. Great at killing things. Dair spikes and two frames at ledge. Spikes kill players. Warlock punch is for memes and shield break punishes. Can be used for “hard” reads against opponents who do dumb things like air dodge onto stage or double jump fair from off stage like Ness. Down special is best used when your opponent is retreating after getting hit by your nair, jab, or f tilt. Can be used to escape juggle, but has an eternity of end lag and opponents may have favorable trades with their anti air options. Do not enter a match and immediately use this. Do not use it in neutral when you are clearly in range, your opponents see that too. Good players will outspace you and punish you hard. The better I got with this character, the more I came to appreciate side special. Players love to shield Ganondorfs approaches because they are easy to punish out of shield. Using side special makes them think twice. But it’s not enough to land it, you need to have a good follow up game. Watch what your opponents is doing. If they are rolling, I like to move in whatever direction comes to mind afterward. Either I’ll be in position to punish or I’ll reset neutral. If they don’t tech then down tilt. Short hop dair is a good option too. Get up attack you can shield and possibly grab out of shield. Side special is also good for tech chasing opponents landing on ground or platform. They will most likely shield on get up because Ganondorf is terrifying. Up special is for recovery. Can be used out of shield, but I personally do not use this option. It can be used to edge guard, mostly to stage spike opponents. Can be used against opponents in the air if you have a good read for it. It can straight up kill if you do. Down throw is good. Can follow up with nair for a true combo. Against heavier characters and some fast fallers you can follow up with a fair. You can also follow with up air for a true combo. Back throw and forward throw are good for creating space and getting opponents off stage. Can create tech chase situations with these throws. I never use up throw.

Weird idea what if flame choke could catch some projectiles and use it like an item. So for Links arrows boomerangs and bombs while in the air could all be caught by it. But any energy based projectiles like fox or ness fire cant be caught.

Very much so. I think he should either give credit or acknowledge it because the style, format and even dialogue is crazy similar to Izaws smash 4 ganon guide

As a ganon guy. A falcon knocked me into the top blast zone and I was staying up there for a bit with my double jump. The falcon was blood thirsty and spamming u-air at me. I went up and down special’d, causing a fatal stage spike for the greedy bird.

I know its a beginner's guide but you missed some key points. Aerial flame choke: you can get guranteed followups when landed on a platform such as BF. This is limited to big body characters such as Ridley but others apply as well. Dark Dive: With enough shield conditioning, you can utilize this command grab against a cornered enemy that decides to shield at the ledge. So long as the enemy isn't a small character like pikachu/pichu, this option should work when you have the read.

Can anyone explain to me how you land the D-Tilt kick when an opponent is about to grab ledge?? Thanks.

You have to be good at timing it, when you see them about to grab it, d-tilt and if you are fast enough the hit box will hit them

I'll just say this, You can make any character guide that you want, but keep in mind that some characters like greeninja already have really advanced guides available and if you were to make another guide people might not new it as much, but Gannon and those typa characters for sure need a good guide, so good job

I'm sorry to bring the drama stuff into here and I don't wanna be that guy, but the Ganon/Falcon community decided to rename the RockCrock since he was exposed as an abusor. Most popular choice seems to be "TechCheck", or even the "MillerGriller", but Fatality doesn't like the last one for obvious reasons.
@NotBae
@NotBae 4 жыл бұрын
yeah, I noticed that. Unfortunately, I made my script and recorded everything just before the smash drama hit, and thus was not able to make changes without significantly warping what I say. I personally don't have a problem with calling "RockCrocking" that tech as I personally don't connect it with the player, but I understand that people do, and is something I should've changed.
