Garage Door Not Closing? Here's Why!

This is a video dealing specifically with the issue of a door not closing all the way either in the up or down position. It happens and you can adjust the settings with the use of a simple flat head screwdriver.

Thank you! Like Jemini_NYC’s problem, I replaced my springs, and did everything by the book. My garage door opened flawlessly, then would only go down a foot and a half. I added, from your video, a little more force downwards, and it fixed the problem. Thanks again.

Thank you very much! I needed to replace the springs and thought I spun it too much. I adjusted the spring and still nothing. But the fix was this. Thank you!!

Hi there. Thank you so much for sharing. Looks so easy. I had an issue my door garage dosent want to drop to close. So many times it happens. But since i rent here and the owners don't like to fix anything here. I notist the door when it gets to drop it stays open just like this video. What i hate is when is snows and gets ice gets the freezing inside and the snow comes inside the garage. I could fix it on my own but don't want to mess with something is not mine.

Kept adjusting but didn't work. I checked sensors they're Ok I've run out of time. I'll continue trying adjustments tomorrow. Thank you I appreciate very much your explanations and particularly your comment about how it's supposed to 'roll' to a close and not slam.Thanks much!

OMG yes. My garage door was going too far down causing bar to bend and garage door keeps going back up. Adjusting the close notch a little and boom it works again! Thank you!

Great video if you want to now on Amazon you can buy two new white light lens for your garage door motor because you probably have the lift master 1260 or the LiftMaster 1265

Very helpful. I do have a question. When my door stops it is below the garage opening at the top but I also worry about the screw you pointed out. Would this be the same remedy you suggest?

It’s adjusted to close too much 1 full turn is 2” or the sensors (2 box’s 1’ up from floor on both sides of door are dirty lens /unplugged wires or not aimed at each other

It happens. Mine is doing that exact thing. The trolley slides almost all the way to the max distance causing the door to bow before it (the trolley) will back off. All the adjusting screws are backed all the way out. Can't find a video for that. Maybe the spring is the problem. Not sure.
