Garage Fire in Bettsville

BETTSVILLE: On Friday afternoon, Bettsville Fire and several neighboring volunteer fire departments responded to a significant garage fire on Twp Rd 69, just west of the Village of Bettsville. Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire originating in the garage, which had spread to two vehicles and threatened the main house.
Bettsville Fire Chief Snell reported that, fortunately, no injuries occurred, and all pets were safely evacuated. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Bettsville Fire.
Assisting Bettsville Fire in managing the blaze were the Helena Fire, Old Fort Fire, Kansas Fire, and Bascom Fire departments. Seneca County EMS was also present, with Seneca County CERT providing rehabilitation services to ensure firefighters stayed hydrated. Additionally, ODOT and Seneca County CERT managed traffic control, resulting in the temporary closure of State Route 12 on Friday afternoon.
