Beautiful day, nice house, sweet sale! Not sure why you thought it was weird that the lady looked through the bag. Lot's of sales just put boxes and bags on the ground for buyers to sift through as your video proves my point. You can see stuff is everywhere!

At least the woman was nice about it. I was at a yard sale with my mom once and my mom had a handful of jewelry and was looking at more, when a woman walked up and grabbed stuff out of my mom’s hand. She said “this person can’t wait all day to see if you’re going to buy anything.” I went off on the woman, my mom was nicer and just blew it off. When we were leaving the woman had the gall to say something like my mom should just stay home or something like that. I lost it and cussed her out. I felt bad for the person running the sale, but my mom was passive about stuff.... I realize it’s just stuff, but it was the rudeness that pissed me off. If she had done that to me, I would have been in jail.

I was at a sale when a man and I were both reaching for a watch. He got to it first. No problem. That's the name of the game. The price was $10. He asked her if she would take $5. She told him no, the price was firm. He carried it around for a bit, looking at it, and asked her if she was sure she would not take less. Again, she nicely told him the price was firm. I knew what he was doing.....he was trying to wear her down. He was an obvious re-seller, which is absolutely fine. I reiterate...nothing wrong with that. BUT....he went at her AGAIN....Will you take $5? She told him no again. I had been waiting to see if he was going to buy it or not ,and I don't know how the lady held her cool, but I told her loud enough for him to hear that if he didn't buy that watch, I wanted it. He looked at me and said, "You just ruined my chance to negotiate." He was not happy. I just laughed it off. He paid the $10 for it. Burns me up when people do that to the sellers. Ask, and if they don't want to come down, then leave it be. Either buy it or not, but don't keep on and on at the poor seller and stress them out just to save a dollar. You did it the correct way. EDIT....I must confess that I really didn't need the watch, but after the way he acted, I would have bought it if she had wanted $50 for it, just to make him mad. That was mean of me, and I probably should not have done it.

I love to hit the BIG garage sales where there's a lot to choose from. It's almost overwhelming though. Then there's some that just have one lonely table and it's not even worth getting out of the car for. Yea, if you have a stash you want to buy, you can not leave it anywhere or put it down for even a second. Y'all are smart for bringing your own bag to put your stuff in. What struck me most about this video is how much taller Pam looks when your riding in the car. She must raise her seat way up and you slump in yours. Other then that nice picks. Everytime you walked away from that bag I was waiting for someone to go looking through it.

I was wondering when this would come up. I've had people trying to take from my pile on several occasions. What I do now is going to sales with 3x5 cards with "SOLD" written on them and my name. I also take little round stickers with SOLD on them. These become highly useful when it's a good sale crawling with folks. It might be a good idea to put a sign on your Ikea bag that says SOLD to Thrift Mine.

Yep, can't even "make a pile" these days and walk away, you'll have people at the sale stealing your stuff and also try to sabotage your transaction with the seller.

She bought it and several months later my buddy called and he had gotten it from her sale $15 said I could have it for that. I got it, a 1920's Washburn, sold it for $350 without even fixing it! Score!
