The Gungnir Allrounder is an ordinary Olympic Barbell with an extraordinary way for keeping the plates on the bar...built in collars.
I've been using the Allrounder for about a month now and I've been surprised just how useful the built-in collars, known as Slidelocks are. They're very expensive bars, but as you'll see in the video, this bar can take a beating.

I agree. I don’t know the exact width of that locking piece, but this could potentially let you get another 10lb plate on each side since it looks thinner than a regular collar plus it could save some time when swapping weights.

It's from Norway!? I didn't expect that. Fun to hear we actually design/make good stuff like this in our country. And in that case, if you care to know for trivia's sake, I can say that it's pronounced either "Goong-neer" or "Gong-neer" with the R rolling at the tip of your tongue or sharply in the back of your throat (we have two Rs), depending on dialect. 😅

So many people complaining but i honestly love this idea and would love a barbell like this even with its terrible price tag. And those who say its better to buy collars well the best collars cost 40 or more with heavy priced shipping less you spend alot of money and the cheaper collars get broke too often by numbnuts who love throwing them or slamming weights on them. I will iterate I believe this is built more for crossfitters, olympic lifters, or athletes who do multiple compound lifts not so much for bodybuilders, regular gym goers, or powerlifters so I would look at perspective about it.

My idea would be a T plate that screws into the end cap, with ball bearing in the end of the screw to stabilise, then a small remote control to release the ball bearing to unscrew and additional headless bolt to put in as to not compromise bar strength

@@jorgediazcantu I'll be honest, I've not done anything to maintain it, but it's only been about three months now and still looks pristine even with daily use. I'm also indoors and not in a shed or garage, so things like extreme temperatures and moisture aren't a problem for me. I'll need to get a brush to brush out bits of the j cup plastic that have rubbed off into the knurl, but that's all I plan so far. Sorry, that's probably not that useful. One thing with mentioning with regard to maintaining your plates if they're polyurethane: because the collar is "ribbed" there's a bit of catching if you load a change plate on with the serrations up. But, easy fix, just twist it so serrations are down as you load them.

I don't think I would spend ~$800 on that bar when I can buy a Rogue or Texas Bar and 10 sets of collars for the same price.

Great video, but would not ever pay $800 for that bar. I would buy an Ohio and safety squat bar and save $50. Keep them coming Coop.
