Jaguar Climate Control Module Repaired Cheap !!

Don't replace your climate control module, the CCM. You can repair the circuit board, as it often fails in the same spot every time. The climate control module, or CCM is what controls the hot and cold air coming through your dash vents. Once the heater control valve shorts out and fails, many times it shorts out the computer climate control module resulting in hot air being blown through your vents. This happens even if your air conditioning is working. It is because the climate control module puts the vent door in the wrong position.

Successful repair! We've bought some pieces from junkyards and basically now try to repair alternative waves before buying, since most pieces never worked out. Awesome video. Enjoyed it and of course love seeing the "orange" temperature gauge.

Thanks soo much. I'm all for grabbing something at the junk yard, when I was younger I would go there all the time, now not as much as I find some of the electronics don't work, and cars have a lot of electronics in them. For this car I did go to the junk yard and the part did not work. I took the part back and it actually worked out well as I was able to repair the factory part. The dealership wanted just over $1000 for a new part, the junkyard part was $100 and to fix the factory part literally cost about $5 !!!

Awesome video and fix, thank you for making this video. I'm having the same issue with my 04 S type, I replaced the heater control valve, the ac lines a filled, compressor is good, one center vent blows cold, and the other three blow hot air. Is there anything else I should do regarding the 2nd center vent or will this process fix all three? thank you for any guidance you can provide me.

Hey there and thanks for the comment. This process can fix it, and its common so before wasting anymore time I would pull the module out and check the circuit board like in the video. See this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p6-AiteqrOCaZKM.html

Thanks bro for showing us how to fix the problem because to replace or get it repaired is expensive.Question it may sound dumb but do you know if the heat value can be fixed with out replacing it since it goes out so much ?
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The heat valve has to be replaced as it usually gets corroded with the coolant leaking into it. So it all gets destroyed. At least the hot water valve is not that expensive. Its that module that brakes the bank !!!

So shouldn't WHAT caused the board to burn be addressed?
@GarageKing
@GarageKing Жыл бұрын
Hey Thanks for the comment and many times there is something that causes the board to fail, but on a 30+ year old vehicle, sometimes the parts just fail. It could have been factory soldering joint for the transistor that came loose. The vehicle still runs fine after the repair so I chalk it to a transistor that failed, transistors do fail and when they do they can burn up, the only thing you can do is replace it.

@GarageKing
@GarageKing 2 жыл бұрын
I think your vehicle still has a hot water valve, I think they eliminated it in later years, but I would check that heater valve (if you have one) I know I have a video on my channel where I replace the heater valve (on an S-Type) but I would look to see if yours has a heater valve, and if there is an sign of leaking replace it, as they cause problems. Follow your heater core hoses out from the firewall and see if they go to a valve. There was also a TSB on your car for slow operation of the system and the culprit was slow air blend door operation.

Hey thanks bro for showing us how to fix the problem this piece is expensive and hard to find unless you get it used to rebuild the unit is expensive also. Thanks again , question it may sound dumb but do you know if the heater valve can be rebuilt ?
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you can rebuild the heater valve. They don’t cost a lot new and once they go bad the coolant pretty much destroys them inside so if you were to rebuild it, I wouldn’t know where you could gets parts,and you would be replacing pretty much everything except the body and in that case it’s just cheaper to buy a new one.

Hi, please how temperature is low, when clima is OK? Old cars have about 4-6°C new 15°C and more. S-type 65°F/20°C is OK? Thanks M.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 6 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean, most cars are similar temperature and some old cars get colder than new cars. Old cars (early 90's and earlier) used 12A which was very cold, 134A is not as cold, and the new 1234yf has some problems. Your Jaguar is 134a, which is the best overall (Environment and temperature). Most cars right at the evaporator run about 4-6 degrees as you mentioned when the AC is running.
@matbeo4603

I mean, when I use termometer on cold air from low temperature on panel/display, how many degrees the cold air have by OK clima in my S-type. I changed clima modul at passenger side, but still same. I'll control conectors and cabels and multi ventil. I buy S-type without OK clima and repaired now.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 6 ай бұрын
@@matbeo4603 I see what you are saying now, the cold air from the vent (degrees) depends on how hot the temperature is outside. If its cool day the temp will be lower, if its hot day the temp will be higher. If you can get to 10C on a hot day 30C that is very good. One problem that can cause the circuit board to fail is the coolant valve. Thats what happened on this car, when the coolant valve shorted out, it caused the failure in the computer. See this video on the heater control valve. most people overlook it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oJ2in9Z70M63n30.html

Hey, I’ve got a Jaguar Stype R where the climate fan turns on and off and just repeats this. This only happens when the car is off and is killing my battery any idea what this is?
@GarageKing

If you have a scanner you can scan for codes in the climate control module as it could be a good starting point. I have never heard of that before, so not a common problem.

Hey there, I'm not a jaguar mechanic, actually a General Motors mechanic, but this Jaguar belonged to my friend so I spent some time figuring it out. Once you know the control module is good (if you watched this vid you will know) the other common problem is the heater control valve and the video is here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oJ2in9Z70M63n30.html and if you want to learn how to remove the module that is here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p6-AiteqrOCaZKM.html

I had it at a shop and he changed the heater ac valve and then the ac blew all cold but when we tried switching back to hot it did not work and also I bought on line another climate box in the inside above the radio and still not working correctly.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 11 ай бұрын
I would check the inside of the climate control box, and make sure you have the right one. I think if you have a heated windshield its a different one. The other thing is make sure the blend door is working. Sorry for the late reply, just saw this now, not easy to keep up with comments sometimes......@@donnellphifer9344

I am having this cooling issue with my 2004 s type. I recently had the valve under the hood replaced due to it leaking about 3 months ago. I have just in the last couple days had this heat/cooling issue. I pulled the control module out as you instructed. I'm not seeing any burned areas. What else could be my issue.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there and thank for the comment. I have seen 3 issues with the S type. The heater valve (which you replaced), the circuit board (please look it over very very carefully to make sure you didn't miss it) and the blend doors not seating fully. I think at one point there was a recall on the blend doors, but I just can't find it. You may want to Google it to see if the article is still around. Those are the only 3 issues I have seen with the S type that cause the hot air in the vents. I do love these vehicles so we have to do our best to keep them on the road !!! Thanks for the comment and if you are sure its not your circuit board, and the connection is good at the water valve (when they plugged it in) then I would check your blend doors in the dash.

I have seen jobs where the connector is not fully seated. For the blend doors I use my scanner that opens and closes them all.
