Lifting and un-lifting our Roof Top Tent from our XC60 a couple times a year is a serious PITA, no matter how 'strong-like-bull' the Mrs. may be... That truth being said, our California Townhouse standard 1.8 car garage just doesn't leave a lot of room to work with. Man! this is exactly the plan i have for my next home and the rooftop platform on my XC60 that id love to remove on and off with all the camping gear on it. Love your work!

I am using this lift as well with my falcon xl but in the opposite orientation. it appears you have the lifting straps (or is it just the excess) over the strut which may put stress on them I wonder if you should route it under? Great job thanks for the video.

You're right the straps are going over the strut, hard to squeeze the D-ring at the end between the strut housing and the tent body. But, with the struts compressed and the lifting force predominantly coming from the strap under the body of the tent, I really don't think the strut is being hit by any significant forces. We've been in some pretty ridiculous desert wind storms with our Falcon, the thing is stout.

I see you also have the Thule Multilift on the ceiling there, did you try that first and not like it or do you use that for something else? I'm looking at options for lifting an 85lb kayak to the ceiling and had been considering both of these. Thanks.

That was for our Volvo skii box. I'm not sure what it's officially rated for but I would not try a 140lb RTT on it.

I would like to use this to lift my RTT with the roof rack. I am thinking I would need a wider bar and 4 motors. Can two kits work together as one? Hmmmm

Probably yes, each motor is separate. The app on your phone links to them via Bluetooth, and you group them together to lift together. Can you make a 4 motor group? To be sure I'd suggest asking their customer support folks.
