I am huge fan of our traditional Indian classical music. I don't know why but my tears comes out each time i watch this. Ustaad Fareed Hasan & Ustaad Mohd. Amaan has done so much brilliance in this Shankar Mahadevan's mind boggling composition. The way it is presented in Bandish Bandit is truly a proud moment for our Indian Classical music & all the 140 Crore Indians living anywhere on this planet.

There is a scene in this series.. where the guy who was thrown out of Panditji's classes for singing falsetto goes to digvijays classes later .. and during auditions, digvijay is impressed and asks where he learnt.. he says, Panditji.. Then digvijay asked why he left. And he says, cause he is outdated and he wants to learn new things And digvijay immediately gets angry and says, "Agar unn se nhi seekh sake toh kissi se nhi seekh sakte tum" Now thats how an enimety should look like.. Respectful as well as competitive.. Brilliant

There's actually another reason for that smile... In Hindustani classical using "Falsetto" is considered to be a sin. But Radhe used it throughout the last portion. Even then it sounded enchanting and Digvijay couldn't keep up...

@Yash1999malviya 2 жыл бұрын
@@rbhardwa1 It is believed by some guruji that Hindustani Classical Music is to be sung with Chest Voice only, using Falsetto is cheating, as it reduces the effort required in singing. However, once you reach a certain position in music and are able to produce three octaves in your chest voice, or in other words you become a Pandit/Ustad, the understanding of the music extends from these rules. Also if you can produce three octaves in your chest voice, then that would mean that if you want to use falsetto you are really going farther than normal songs reach, thus, it can be considered not a sin.

That character was written very well and Atul Sir did full justice to that. Playing such multi layered character is never easy. Just look he hates his father but respects him as an elder and guru, want to defeat his nephew to take back gharana but doesn't want to defeat as he can't hurt her love, lost in the end but appreciated his nephew and in very end comes to his purpose back "ye gharana to main lekr rhunga" Such multi layered and intricate character. 😅

Those expressions are so spot on for Radhe (initially he is nervous when jugalbandi part starts and gains confidence and a bit of stubbornness later) and Digvijay with his overconfidence right from the start and the moment he realizes that he is actually proud of his opponent and nephew!

This is the power of Hindustani classical music ...so many wonderful and divine ragas are there..raga Deepak which is used to employ lighting lamps is no longer known today.... but it is very pathetic that nowadays people only prefers the pop and rock music and most of the singers forget how to pronounce Hindi or any other Indian language while singing and audience provide more likes in the remix version than that of the original songs .....audience and music directors degrades the standard and class of Indian music day by day.. ......

But it is not the first time such a performance has been rendered in Indian classical music. THis song I'm sure is inspired by those true legends and is probably an ode to them. A request with folded hands for all you music lovers to revisit the work of our legends to better appreciate Indian classical music. You won't find such depth anywhere else in this world.

beautiful song. i loved how appreciative the older singer is of the younger one. in the end, it's not competition- only appreciation for the truly talented opponent.

While Panditji is going deaf, he sees Digvijay and Radhe sing side by side. It looks like he sees them as a father-son duo as one of the possible futures if he had not been selfish.

If your throat doesn't feel that Globus sensation with wet eyes and a mild smile on your face (Like digvijay had when he knew the art is in safe hands), then am sorry but you are just an innocent observer of an unknown magical territory of Indian classical music that is way beyond to one of those merely enjoyable experiences that you have in a pub at times.

So amusing that people are talking about classical hindusthani music in films. So Bandish Bandits barely scratches the surface. Listen to compositions of SD Burman, Rahul Dev Burman, Madan Mohan, Shankar Raghuvanshi, Roshan ji and Nausad. You get a proper intro to music than current Bollywood stuff.
