Thank you for posting this. I love Garbage and it is really cool to hear Butch geek out on his gear. I am also a big fan of Duke and Steve, now I have a better appreciation for how they make their music. Cheers bro!

that guild guitar is so beautiful!!!!! I love the shape, the color, the bridge... and it's very old school, I love guitars that look like they belong in the 50s or 60s.

I love how guitar players always say it's a real solid guitar, but truth is if you take any of those guitars drop them on your toe or swing them at your head I think they're all pretty solid

I remember seeing Garbage on their 2.0 tour back in 1998 or something like that. I think Steve just played a few of those Bluesbirds but Duke Erikson looked to be switching to a new cool guitar pretty much between every song. If I remember correctly there was an SG Custom, a Jaguar and lots of other cool ones. Not 100% sure but I think most or all of them were original vintage ones.

that guild electric axe is unique. l'm sure the signal simplicity they're talking about can perfectly be picked up in the studio

"Duke", PLEASE show us that "Drop-dead Absolutely Gourgeous" Red metal-flake "Stratocaster" that you played in Las Vegas on 4/12/13 [sometime in the near future] Looked kinda like "diver-down" flag, [had a white stripe] Thanx, man [LOVE YOUR "Style !]ps I drove from LA to see you play [3rd time since 10/2/12] ...it was worth the drive....

Always been intrigued by Vigs drumkit setup...now i know, would of been great if he would've done some playing and took us through the sounds and whatnot.

I don't see a ton of artists playing Guilds. Steve and Duke know how wicked they are!

Guild still makes electrics. Mostly hollow and semi-hollow, but they just reissued the S100.

The stolen guitar returns. Just like jerry cantrells' guitar that was stolen and returned, i think it was 18 years later.

What ever happened to the drummer just playing the drums? Butch's kit and electronic equipment looks like command control center of NASA .

+jdessell Butch said they always work hard to duplicate their studio sound in the live shows. It's something they like to do...they are not like other bands........ AND He's a genius.

And why should we guitarists be the only ones to enjoy and take advantage of technology I play a modelling guitar (Variax) in addition to my Gretsches 'All this machinery making modern music can still be open hearted' It's just a question of your honesty

Interesting and educational - thanks. Missing - Eric Avery. Missing - Shirley Manson - would like to know about how she decides on her wardrobe and makeup and why she abandoned her super-hot 90s look for the baggy clothes and tied-up "non-hair" school-teacher hair look. Love her anyway but quit hiding that hot girl look - we know you've still got the goods, girl. ♥

Eric Avery's not an official member and doesn't play bass on every song of their recent albums (he plays on a few but Justin Meldal-Johnson plays on the others, he used to be bassist for Beck) so that's probably why they didn't interview him, and Shirley? Her wardrobe is not a part of the Rig, she plays guitar on a few songs so yeah they could have interviewed her, though she doesn't play that much.
