Garden of Stone - John Carter Cash
Garden of Stone is a very personal song written by John Carter Cash. When his mother and father passed away, the bells around the family rose garden were all rang by the children and grandchildren. The bell used on the recording is one of those very bells. Directed and written by his eldest son, Joseph Cash, the video features John Carter's oldest daughter AnnaBelle Cash. The lyrics recall the times gathering at that rose garden: "...we rang them as a family, every man woman and child." Finally, the song holds a message of hope that it might be established in a "new Garden of Stone," a foundation for a bright future.

This is the first music I've heard in 2023 that I've commented on. Listening to is one thing; liking it well enough to listen to the lyrics word for word is a whole other level of special. Definitely special.

This is absolutely beautiful. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never heard your music before but you now have a new fan. My very first album was Johnny Cash Folsom Prison Blues. My dad and brother were huge fans and I quickly followed their lead. I’m only 64 so my brother would come in and I swear I think he had a 1000 songs by your dad on his laptop that he would play for us when he got to come visit. He was 20 yrs Navy and 17 yrs older than me so I didn’t get to know him until he retired. Your dad’s music is one thing that helped make us closer. I lost him 3 yrs ago and listening to this song has me thinking of him right now. He would absolutely love it. Of course he was probably familiar with your music. Anyway great song!😊❤️🎼🎼

When your voice dips low I hear your daddy. Overall there is a hint of your daddy in your voice. This is beautiful. I want to hear more out of you. I thought you were behind the scenes producing. Glad you stepped out to sing to us.

I had wondered what had become of the bells of your dad’s bell garden. When Helen and Anita passed on, I was honored to be asked to join your family and friends to “ring them out.” With your father directing us, the bells rang from high above Old Hickory, on and on.

That is really nice. A bit reminiscent of your daddy, but not too much to take away your originality. It's a gray, rainy morning in Fairhope, Alabama, and this song fits the day well. Your old friend, Patrick Flaherty, sent this to me.

My name is Larry Joseph Salyer.. My grandfather was named Ross Benjamin Salyer.. My great grandmother was named Francis.. My Salyer family was from Indiana and Virginia.. Johnny sent roses 🌹 to grandma Francis on her birthday... Ross moved his family to tulare ca.. And realized we had kin in Corcoran ca. The biggest family farm in the world at that time.. But I never met that side of the family.. My grandfather always asked me when he was too old to comprehend.. if I met his uncle "Tuk"? While I served in the military in Virginia. Do you know who we are?
