Ahhh yes! Rhodies. They are great for bees in mid spring. But I had to take mine out and replace them with deciduous flowering shrubs. I e hydrangeas. My northwest corner was abusive to the Rhodies. Probably could have used anti desiccant to protect them. But the other problem was there was too much damage to the leaves and there were a lot of bare spots. The hydrangeas are thriving! I have a white flowering lilac and two immature Josee reblooming lilacs. They are a wonderful shrub.

I have this quince and was curious about those long branches above the blooms. Can I prune this down to the blooms so they aren’t in the way?

Yes, you can, but do be aware that this will encourage branching, which may require further pruning in the future. ☺
