Those squirrels must've thought that your garden was a buffet. That shot of the chewed ears of corn of was heartbreaking! Maybe you can wrap something around the corn that is still left! I really like the way you support the tomatoes! Great update - I think it is good to show all the weeds - it just makes it more real!

I love your videos...I have been following your vids for the past two years....I really like them because to me they remind me of a typical non-pro garden where we can relate to....kind of like mine....I have a small 300 square feet garden here in around Boston myself....I grow tomatoes (22 plants)...hot peppers (10plants)...cucs(55)...zucs(30)..and pole beans (70)...planted the tomatoes first in late May...so far only harvested 15 cucs and 1 zucs from all this...

Hey man, sorry for the loss of your corn. Ours was looking great and last week a storm came through and laid it all down. Hopefully we will all have better luck next year. Your green beans look good, so things aren't a total loss. We have had a great deal of rain as well as GRASS too. There is just no way to get rid of it unless you can be there 24/7. Hey... I just got my Hooke n crooke today. Get one, they are unbelievable. They work. I actually can't wait till tomorrow to go do some weeding around my corn. Check with the bayou Gardner. Those weeds will be in check. Very very easy and a joy to use. Have a good one

sorry to hear about your corn! It sucks to work so hard on something just for it to all be destroyed! your tomatoes and peppers look great! I had bad weeds last year but the black plastic really did a great job this year! You should for sure give it a try

I know the constant rain gives the bugs and pests and advantage because it washes away the remedies but I guess we have to try to be more persistent then the bugs and critters to get *some* of the food. lol! Actually, you unknowingly did what people do to start a lawn and that is spreading compost full of seeds. That is unfortunate that happened. However you have plenty of nice plants to get food from. Nice tomatoes!

the rain didn't just let the weeds take off, it leached all the nitrogen out of the soil. I got the same problems! I will add more composted manure this fall too.

I know how you feel USC. We had a blast of heat, then rain, then heat and yesterday got almost 4 inches of rain overnight. Weeds out the wazoo, had to pull my squash & zuke plants, corn's done and only left in the beds to support the pole bean plants, which have taken over. Now we're getting close to August and I hate how it cooks plants and gardeners alike down here. Blah. ;-)

Hey!!! Believe it or not I've got even worse weed problems. Like you said lotsa rain lotsa weeds. Thanks for posting I was beginning to think "why me lord" it's just been a weird year. This is gardening man!!! Right? Hang in there I'm sure the fall will be better. At least that's what I'm thinking and I'm sticking to it.....lol

I have the same tomato problem on some of my plants, I didn't know the rain would leech out that mch from the soil.

Mine are to I actually planted more tomatoes,peppers and cucumbers in late June/July that will hopefully take me on into october.I plant my fall crop late Aug.early Sept. and I will be planting a heap of stuff

Well yes Ive read that the beans puts off nitrogen in the soil as they grow but Ive also read that the nitrogen doesn't go back into the untill you till the beans under so I dk my corn grew fine with it there.

Yea i got the half moon one and I was doing that untill I worked our shutdown and was to tired to go out there for a week lol so they grew and grew and grew and the rain didnt help either

...all my plants are really healthy here but the fruits are very slow in coming...by the way ...this is my first post ever on any youtube vids....congrats....lol...hope you don't mind I make responses here once in awhile...I have been growing my small garden for about 10 years now...you shouldn't worry too much about all the weeds...they do not look that bad....Tony

Yea your right The sun burned up some of my pumpkin plants but I think Im gonna be okay cause I still have a few growing but I wanted to do a separate pumpkin video thats why there not in this video.Ill have it up soon

Its alot of my aurora hot peppers mixed up in a blender and then strained its hot I tested It and it set me on fire lol

Yea took all the calcium away from the maters to blossom end rot here it comes lol Yea Im gonna put out some more manure this fall to probably the 1st of september 1.30 at lowes for 1 cu.ft
