My parents had a long edge of red tulips every spring. They were stunning. They dug the tulips every summer, separated them and replanted them. They kept this up for years and always had quite the show. It was a tremendous amount of work, so worth it. Have a wonderful holiday! Looking forward to the strawberry jam!

One year I had a plastic ceramic-looking pot, it was quite large, maybe 12-14 inches across in diameter and I forced all red tulips. They bloomed in January and it was the most beautiful display of tulips! That was the one and only year I went kinda overboard and forced several types of flower bulbs. It was a wonderful display but the over powering scent of hyacinth flowers was nauseating, 😂

@@loissaedder2214 I agree - you can tell since she holds the camera with one arm and work with the other and sometimes it makes it very difficult. I know they have Paul and Bethany and they say all the time they wouldn't have all this without them and how much they value their work. But, these daily morning videos are almost always Laura doing it herself. Aaron has a ton of other things he does like edit and post the video. I am amazed at the transformation of this piece of your property. The stone pathways add so much texture to the garden. The flowers, trees and shrubs are of course beautiful, but the pathways are the "chefs kiss". I was just thinking though, now you need to start adding a little lighting to edge the pathways with an occasional uplighting of specimen plants. Your family walks the garden at night, what a gorgeous walk it would be with a little light!

My first ever batch is drying in my garage now. I planted a bunch (in Georgia) in early November in my garden, but also did 15 gallon growbags for each daughter for Christmas. I printed out the directions on what to do with it with a cute drawing of a garlic clove at top, laminated it and tied it with a ribbon to the grow bag handle. They were nervous about it, but I said just put it on your patio (condo deck for one), water every few days then follow the directions, and they were real excited. My bulbs didn't get as large as Laura's and now I'm on a quest to find out what I could do better! But it was easy!

Such a great garlic harvest. While prepping the garlic I highly recommend making some roasted garlic. It’s easier than pealing each clove and so good. Just cut off the top of the head drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper and wrap in foil. It’s hot for the oven right now but I use the grill after finishing grilling dinner add your garlic in foil individually or in a group close it tight and shut off the grill and leave in closed for an hour or more. Then I put them in a ziplock in the freezer. So easy to use just grab a head and set out to thaw or microwave for less than a minute. Great on all veggies, dips, marinades, spread on toasted baguette just endless uses. You will never want to be without it. The walkway is really filling out and just lovely!

Years ago, at a previous home, I would tie the leaves tight together as the tulips died back. After pulled, cleaned and dried I kept them in paper bags in the hot garage all summer, and replanted in the fall. I never had any issues other than squirrels digging them up. Easy fix for that, use landscape staples to hold burlap down, remove early spring.

Sometimes I remind myself this is your job…and one I know you love…because I begin to feel quite lazy this time of year. If I get 4 bags of mulch spread in an evening I pat myself on the back.

Laura, may I just say that your tidy and neat gardening habits make my OCD heart smile😊 and your boundless energy is infectious! Question: Do you ever have days when you just want to do nothing but chill? If so, do you take the time for yourself to recharge - without guilt? As always, thank you Aaron and the crew for making such wholesome and informative content.

Wow! This new area sure doesn’t look like a barren land with gofers anymore. Everything and everywhere is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t know how you get so much done in a day Laura!!! Your hard work sure does pay off. Such a beautiful place. 💕☀️🦋🐝🌸🌲

I love the Flavorette honey apricot and reminiscent pink roses. 💗 The coleus and those dahlias are just stunning! Will you be doing a stand alone rose tour 2024? I just love all your roses.

Nice monochromatic blend today. Have you considered adding some extra-gigantic boulders into your sections which have the stone pathways to bring continuity to those connected areas? It would break up the extremely flat landscape and bring a more natural accent separating it from the more formal sections?
