I just received my GARDEN ANSWER hoodie ..... l got it to cuz of my mom. We always spent our breakfast time watching you from back in the beginning through the birth of your children and the growth of your property. We lost her at the end off August. Mom made to 99 and had a great life. We both learned a lot about gardening and life through you and Aaron. Thank You for being a part of our lives ❤❤ ....... now back to the show ......

Yes! I always just thank her for the video or mention how much I enjoyed it but honestly I also need to give her kudos on the filming. She really does a great job! I smile sometimes thinking about how far she’s come with the camera! At first she really did not want to be filmed by Aaron.. it’s been such an amazing journey.. they should make like a KZfaq feature “film” 😆 about the entire experience from start to finish because it’s been fascinating and so enjoyable to watch them grow and develop into the absolute professionals they are today. I would totally pay to watch it!

Can you store them to plant later? Iris, that is. This method was an eye opener for scooping up the iris rísomes. I was trying to dig mine up one by one 😮

I recently dug and separated a 6 yr old clump of bearded iris and got around 150 rhizomes! I replanted what I needed in my garden and gave a bunch away to friends. Perennial gardening can be a pain sometimes but it is so worth it!!

Last year I dug up I bet a thirty year old patch of white irises. The area was probably 60 foot long 4 ft. Wide. It took several days to say the least, and I have another patch I’m not sure how big it is. I dread separate them because It’s so big. I got enough to go around a huge garden and didn’t even touch my pile. I had to just sprinkle them in the ground and they once again are thriving. Such an easy plant to care for. Just lots of separating!

Sure does look real good Sweet Laura, yesterday coming back from my Doctor appointment, I stopped at Brains to pick-up anfew things I needed. Onions was one of them. As I was looking at the onions, I thought to myself. I would love to have a couple of Sweet Laura's onions for my soup. Well I made it today, much to my surprise the Brains onions we're just the case that so was after. The soup was great.Even if we're not support to Bragg on our own cooking, lol. It's support to get cold here in Ok. For a day or so, also. It's so hard to bleivebthat it's so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas, again. Seems to me that time is just flying. Plus another year older in December for me also.Please tell everyone hello for me That I wish than the Happy.of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sending my love and God's blessings to you. That butternut squash recipe looks so yummy! I just might have to give it a try and cook it for my family. I really like this video on irises. I have many Irises growing in my front yard along our picket fence and in the back yard along the side of our house ( all purple). I transplanted them from my mother-in-laws yard, probably about 25-30 years ago. They are faithful to come back every year...I love them! I also really enjoy your home interior projects, a lot. I would love to see more of those kind of videos!!! Thank you, Aaron, your mom, sister and your precious children for allowing us to come along and spend time with you. On another garden channel (Dig water plant repeat) I watch, someone brought Janie Irises and recommend a tool for planting called a Hoe-dag. I ordered one from Duluth trading company and it has quickly became my absolute favorite planting tool.

I’d probably put ajuga in where the irises were. There are so many leaf colors to choose. And for me the stay really flat against the ground. Plus the can take shade and have blue flowers! My favorite.

I just made a small stepping stone path along the side of my house (just a utility area) and I planted over 150 ajuga plugs that I rooted in the spring. Chocolate Chip, Black Scallop and Burgundy Glow all mixed. They have put on a bit of growth but I can't wait till they all grow together and around the stepping stones like a beautiful carpet.

Quick pro tip as a cook, Brown your meat first and then set it aside. Cook your garlic and onions in the pan with the drippings of the meat. Then add the meat back in. Crazy amount of flavor!

I was so glad to see you separated the iris rhizomes! They will be so pretty as a giant drift! Suggestion: put a pallet walkway through the "meadow" to each of your orchard trees behind the flower shed. Then, the grass can grow up on each side and you will have access. That would fit your whimsy vibe for sure! 🌱💚

Iris need to be separated out in order to maximize blooms so you should have a great display next spring and the year after that.

I live in the Southeast, and we plant our iris' high (so they don't die!) Half-in, half-out is what my mom taught me. But the last time I divided mine, there were a few that looked like they were no good, and I threw them out in the woods behind our house. Well lo and behold, they came up the next spring! They didn't bloom, too much shade, but I dug them up this year and moved them to a nice sunny spot.
