Hey Laura! I noticed that the terracotta pots you got at home depot were of the deroma brand. Here in the Netherlands their terracotta saucers are waterproof. You should check them out! They look like normal terracotta but they don't leak at all, I've been using them inside the house for years.

I don't know why, but I love that you bought those topiaries at a big box store. I buy most of my perennials and annuals at local garden nurseries, but every once in awhile, I like to pick some items up at a hardware store, also at a great price, all the while thinking, "would Laura approve?" lol. I used to think topiaries were boring or for very formal gardens.BUT, I can see how much contrast and interest they add to a garden. The fig tree would be great in the Heartly. If you can keep it from overheating inside. Beautiful backdrop at gatherings.

Love azaleas. An icicle took out one of my azaleas which left a 3 inch stump, i was going to dig it up but decided to see if it would rebound and it did!!

I watch your videos daily and have been so inspired by you! This is the first year that I've gone big with planting annuals in my gardens. Watching your video this morning, you pointed out your Supertunia Bordeaux in the pots that were struggling....I then realized mine were looking pretty similar. I went to go check them out closer and found that pretty much every single plant has spider mites😭😭😭 I'm kind of devastated 😔 I hope I'll be able to revive them🤞 thanks for all your knowledge and inspiration!

For garden scissors( or any scissors) reuse aluminum foil folded over until difficult to cut through. Cut several times. It sharpens to perfection every time. I've even sharpened old primary scissors (no longer needed by a child).

HELP! I live in zone 3 and absolutely love topiaries. Since they'd never survive in their pots in the cold we have I plan to put them into an insulated shed. My question is do I need to put growth light's on them along with low heat. If so how many lights are required and what temperature should I try to keep? Love everything you do. I've learned so much from you and we're putting in a new garden because you have inspired me so much!
