With summer in mind, Monty plants up a seating area filled with night-scented plants and divides an agapanthus. He also plants an ornamental quince against an East facing wall, and sows squash for an autumn harvest.
Toby Buckland visits The Vann Garden in Surrey, designed by Gertrude Jekyll, a springtime botanical paradise.
Sue Kent is in her own garden in Swansea, as she makes a start on planting up her new hot border.
The programme explores the coastal garden of celebrated author Patrick Gale, and discover how he has transformed a farmyard into a writing oasis in Cornwall.
Plus an enthusiastic collector who can’t get enough of geums, a colourful and easy-to-grow perennial.
And there’s a chance to see another film sent in by viewers.

As Monty gets excited about spring, we are sliding into autumn down here in New Zealand. However, as he says, there is always something new to discover, and i shall be taking some extra growth off my lovely geum this afternoon, and potting up to plant out in OUR spring ! Lovely to see the wee Pattie out and about too.

@@skyeseaborn1170 Thank you ! So far it has been lovely and sunny, although westerlies have given my garden a rather unusual mulch of pine needles from the park next door !

The tulips colour turn different in color due some factors like soil and light, it often change the colour advertised on the pakkage in other countries other than the origin of the hibryd.

The Rose in cardboard, now that's brilliant! I find agapanthus interesting, here in Melbourne Australia it's marked as an environmental weed, I take seed heads off to prevent spreading because it's tough, drought tolerant and it recovers from frost, burn etc, and I love it that blue - too easy.

I once had the impression that gardeners would also have a specific range of attributes and values governed by the perspective being immersed in nature would give them,,,,,, id never consider gardening for a living again,,,it was a huge mistake.....

Gardeners world is a great programme, but why do they have to emphasise two men in the Cornwall garden, as a husband & husband? That is not a marriage! It’s an abomination to God. It’s a gardening programme and should not be mentioning gay relationships as if it’s normal. Leviticus 18:22 ~ You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
