How to Grow Hibiscus from Cuttings Easily - Here in this video you are going to learn the simplest way to grow Hibiscus plant from cuttings and that's the reason why I said this as a Lazy method :-)
Growing Hibiscus from Cuttings is really very easy. You just need to follow the below steps -
1. Take 6-8 inches long softwood cuttings. Hibiscus is easy to root from softwood cuttings.
2. Remove most of the leaves. However, you can keep 2-4 leaves on each stems.
3. Cut the other parts of the stems in a diagonal order so that the more portions of cuttings can keep in contact with moist soil.
4. Take a medium size container (6 inch would work) and fill it with potting soil mix. However, I didn't prepare any kind of potting soil mix. I just reused old soil. To stay on a safer side, you can use only Sand.
5. Insert the stems into the soil and please ensure at least 1 inch of stems remains inside the soil.
6. Water thoroughly and then keep the pot in a bright area. Please be careful while watering for the next time and you can let the top soil dry out a bit. You have to keep the oil moist, not wet. The stems would rot very easily if the soil is too wet.
7. When you see new growth, wait for another 7-10 days. Then you can keep it under direct sunlight for next 10-15 days.
8. You are done and now you can easily transplant them :-)
The best time to grow Hibiscus from cuttings is either Spring season or Rainy season. Good luck and please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you very much for watching the video, have a great day :-)

I used to think that I had a black thumb when it came to plant nurturing, I am now thinking it may only be dark grey. I have 3 hibiscus plants, 2 were here when I bought my house and a year later I planted one from a store. All are now nearly 6 feet tall or taller, but this year the flowers have been very few. I now realize that I need to prune the plants and even better: I can now make use of the " excess growth " to make more plants. I look forward to trying your tips, thank you sir.

Do I need to wash the roots take the soil off or it was just to show how roots developed
@eponymousIme
@eponymousIme 6 ай бұрын
@@estelaburciaga177 No need to wash the roots. But if they have grown over each other in a clump or tangle, you should *gently* separate them so each root is untangled and able to take up soil nutrients and water unimpeded.

Sure shot quickest way for cuttings...always works Take the cuttings, remove all leaves except one or two...keep them in water..an old mug or bottle will do..change water every two days..in 10 days there will be visible roots in the immersed portion and new leaves in the top...you plant after 10 to 14 days..every cutting will become alive..flowering also happens very quickly
