You can propagate it like this, but the new growth will lose the varigated yellow border stripe and revert back to natural form.

What happens to the tops of the plants that; you propagated? Don't they grow straight across instead of having a pointed top? I don't see how it would look like a snake plant afterward?

Even if they do grow , the varigated variety of the snake plant will produce a natural snake plant without the yellow edging . I waited 5 months just to see a basic snake plant pop up once .

You can use a Sharpie marker and label the top with a T so you don’t need to cut them up so much.

Hello I Am a new house plant mom and I wanted to propagate snake plant, I took a leaf that was kinda separated from the plant with a small mother plant root and put it into a small pot. It was all good untill now bcos it has developed one root ( 3 weeks or so ) its kinda small but it is here. The main problem is that it started yellowing, I know snake plants start yellowing if they have too much water buuut don’t you have to keep the soil moist when you propagate? Idk what to do anymore bcos No water No roots but water= yellowing and probably end of this cutting life Pls tell me what to do!!

Да,действительно они потеряют свои жёлтые ободки и эти листья просто срезать и посадить в землю и не надо их так перерезать.А почему он не показывает после как примется лист потому что ободков не будет.Этот цветок только будет с ободком если оторвать лист чтоб хоть немного был корень.У меня такой растет,поэтому я и пишу,что кто не знает,пусть коменты мои прочтет

You did this wrong, you're supposed to let them callous for a day first before planting them, this helps avoid rot
