A Thousand Years Ago in a humble kingdom known as Castle Wyvern, Gargoyles and Humans lived in harmony with a bond unlike that of man; Humans would guard the Gargoyles during the day and the Gargoyles, in turn, would fight alongside the Humans at the night. However, as companionship between man and beast strived, a conspiracy of betrayal and prejudice was on the rise; In the year 994 A. D. Saboteurs within the palace walls would execute mass genocide of the Wyvern Gargoyle clan leaving six members to remain and unbridled tension to rise from the gargoyles who were made an example, and the humans they have sworn to protect. As tensions got high the Gargoyles cunning would be no match as misunderstanding would freeze our heroes in time until the castle would rise above the clouds being put to rest until the year of 1994 and our Heroes would live again. With the voice talent of Keith David, Jonathan Frakes, Salli Richardson, Marina Sirtis, Clancy Brown, Jeff Bennett, Bill Fagerbakke, Thom Adcox Hernandes, and the late Ed Asner, Gargoyles is a hidden gem in the Disney catalog and a stand-alone in the action cartoon genre. With well-written stories, gorgeous animation, and memorable characters, with many viewers being introduced to the literary works of William Shakespeare thanks in part to series creator Greg Wiseman Gargoyles has held the honor of being a one-of-a-kind animated series from the Walt Disney Company and will continue to hold that honor for years to come
