On 2 April 2015, gunmen stormed the Garissa University College in Garissa, Kenya, killing 148 people, and injuring at least 79.
The militant groups Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab, which the gunmen claimed to belong to, took responsibility for the attack.
The gunmen took over 700 students hostage, freeing Muslims and killing those who identified as Christians. The siege ended the same day, when all four of the attackers were killed. Five men were later arrested in connection with the attack, and a bounty was placed for the arrest of a suspected organizer.

Just say a senior police officer..used the police chopper that was supposed to ferry recce to garissa..to ferry his family from a vacation in Mombasa to Nairobi... That's why recce had to wait... Na uwache upuzi.. that officer should be charged..he killed 150 students..sikolia tell the truth

I remember this we were the QRF based in Bodhei Lamu, we could hear gun shots from a small town that we were patrolling, it was crazy. Actually it was a driving distance since we had all the Ammo and first aid kits, we were very ready but the commander stated that we are on standby... since Recce unit is en rout only to hear that they didn't make it on time …That was heartbreaking. But all in all it’s our governments to blame ,they dont know how to prioritize and when to act.

If the helicopter that was on duty was available to the Rec unit ,the death toll would not have reached over 100. Imagine the said helicopter was taken by a captain with his girlfriend to Mombassa for a rest .

We, people of Garissa, would never forget the rec unit who came at around 3 pm. and went straight to the hostels to fight the shabaab bandits where they murdered all the four bt lost one soldier. Our regards goes to iskadeg and college villagers who assisted the students who were lucky to flee through the fence with food and clothes .our regards to the NTV CREW for their sterling and brave coverage of the incident.

I thought you were talking about THE WAGALLA MASSACRE by the Kenyan government against the Somali Communities, which killed more than 5,000 Somali civilians, children, women and the elderly in Wajeer. The Kenyan Government wanted to commit another massacre against the same community in Gaarisa but the Somali Government which was strong at the time threatened Kenya and warned that Somalia will react with a full offensive war against Kenya to defend the indigenous Somalis in the Occupied NFD region. When Kenya realised Somalia is serious about what it said , Kenya desisted.
