Garlic jam: Surprising and delicious!! Quick recipe

As a Frenchwoman, garlic is very important to me! I don't like it, I love it! I eat it in all its forms! Even raw on a baguette and a bit of cheese (happiness)! But now, did you know garlic jam? No ? It's never too late to discover new things! This jam is divine! It is used to put in savory pies, to serve with a cheese platter, roast meat, as a sauce for bbq, etc! Good tasting !
Ingredients :
500g garlic
180ml water
1 sage leaf
150g sugar (3/4 cup)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon and
1 - You can use any type of garlic.
2 - Sugar can be replaced by a sugar substitute.
3 - With this quantity I had 2 small jars. They can be kept for several months if sterilized, if the can is opened (about 2-3 weeks).
4 - 500 grams of garlic (without the skin)

What a great idea - I’ve never heard of garlic jam before. I make a lot of Thai and Middle Eastern recipes and both use a lot of garlic and also a sweetener - palm sugar in Thai and honey in Middle Eastern cuisine. This would be great for both. I shall make it when the fresh garlic is in season. Thank you - you have such original yet simple recipes and it’s not easy to post something every day, even though you must make the videos in batches. I got a apple and custard pastry at a very small but wonderful shop in Nice, years ago, and was upset with myself for not buying more to bring home as we were on our way back to Paris to then come back to the states. I have never seen or had anything like it anywhere else - until recently something popped up on my feed regarding this pastry - imagine my shock as I looked for a recipe and could not find one - and poof here it is on my screen. I wonder if you know what I am meaning? I did not see them at Paul or any of the other patisseries all over France. That was the best sweet I have ever had.

Je n'imagine pas encore le goût. Mais comme j'aime l'ail, je vais essayer. Par contre, je ne sais pas utiliser la sauge. C'est une saveur que je ne comprends pas et que je ne sais pas utiliser.

Moi non plus je n'utilise jamais la sauge 🤔... Mais je pense qu'une petite feuille la mettre où pas ne changera pas grand chose !

La sauge est très utilisé en UK et Italie ♥ Son goût est très fort, il en faut très peu donc pour donner du goût. Légèrement poivrée/citronnée avec un arrière goût boisé :)

Usare la salvia come condimento dei gnocchi o pasta ripiena, basta fare nocciolare il burro con la salvia, squisito perché se tagliate la salvia a listerelle diventa croccante e squisita, da provare! Anche sulle patate bollite! ❤

I understand your astonishment :) But even if there is sugar, you don't really feel a sweet taste like a classic jam. The sugar here will soften the strength of the garlic ♥
