I have both units still in April of 2023,my go to is STILL the Astro 220,I've never had so much as a hiccup with the Astro,I hunt on & in the mountains & it has been & continues to be a brilliant bit of kit,for now the Alpha remains in it's box.

Yes, you can use it as stand alone GPS as well.

Would be nice to know what collars can be tracked with each unit. Can the Alpha track the older collars, can the 320 track newer? My hunting buddies have 220's and I want a newer model but want to be able to track their older collars also.

I have a question. I have an Astro 220 with a dc40 collar. Every now & then it looses gps signal with the collar. It may pick it right back or it may take up to an hr. Then sometimes it’ll lose it again right away. What would cause this?
