DC Rainmaker Thanks for the video. It’s very helpful. What is your opinion of the display quality on the Fenix 6? I was disappointed by by the Fenix 5 since it seemed to be washed out and not as vivid as most other current smart devices. Is the display on the Fenix 6 more vibrant, or do you feel it’s similar to the Fenix 5? Thanks.

I really like your reviews. They're really thorough. But I'd make a couple of comments: 1) For non-American English speakers who speak English- you're hard to understand. You speak really fast and run your words together. 2) Don't be afraid of content length. To be fair, your target could be North American audiences who understand you perfectly. Also, you have the analytics that I don't, which may well indicate that shorter reviews, or reviews that fall into certain time frames do better. If so, I hope you'll take my critique as a compliment. I'd like to be able to understand you better, and I'd like more of it. Hope that makes sense!

Nice Review! I really dig the "Pace Pro" feature on the Fenix 6. Unfortunately I've discovered that it's limited to 14:00 miles as a maximum pace. This is fine for most Marathon runners but once you get into Ultra marathons up to 100 miles in length only a small percentage of ultra runners are running that kind of pace. Most are in the 16-20 minute/mile range. I hope garmin can update this feature in Garmin Connect!

Well if garmin put a nacho cheese maker on it it would probably dispense icecream as these watches are just expensive pedometers, cause that's the only reliable data you get from it, everything else is a gimmick. Well I will also give it the heart rate sensor, but other than that it's kind of a waste

Ray, after all these years... you're still the best. Thanks for having high quality reviews that are based off real analysis of product and function. Do you think there's going to be any impact to longevity/quality of battery life in the 6x solar w/constant solar charging?
@Disceomn3s5 жыл бұрын
Also Ray, do you have any ability to do some Pulse Ox testing for accuracy? I know this doesn't sound like it's that important but as someone with a history of asthma I'm curious to see how effective it is compared to a standard pulse ox device --and because Apple is too stupid to include this in their watches.
@Dcrainmaker5 жыл бұрын
In my written review I give some super specific battery burn rates and the impressive solar aspects (from testing). It's cool stuff in the right conditions. As for PulseOx, I've been meaning to pickup a medical grade test unit - it's about $600, but with more and more units including it, it's on my radar.

Great review as always, complex topic in a quick review. I’ll read the full review tonight. First impression is that Garmin is getting way pricey. Their base model Fenix, which is now the Pro, is $700! What they are calling their base is really the same as their high end running watches, but with the Fenix look. I am waiting for someone to change the market by providing a 200-300ish dollar watch with maps, music, training, open water swim, power meter connectivity and multi-sport mode. There is no reason that couldn’t be done except for some unwritten agreement that all these things are only in “high end” watches. Someone needs to break the cabal.

Great review! But my F5+ has already so many features I don't need or use, why pay more for more things I don't use? E.g. popularity routing leads me along main roads although I live in the woods, or the navigation, which I used only to try it out. What I need is navigation along a pre-defined track, the maps, accurate GPS and flawless connection to the sensors, the rest is nice or even useless!
