That's a different track than the one I normally see! The beginning montage felt really familiar, I run in slow motion (even at full speed). The features Garmin holds back are very interesting. In your years covering gear, how often does a technology left off a device get added in a software update down the road, when the newer watches have the next best thing? Where do you open water swim? I act like I'll know where that is...but I'm curious!

Good video of the 55 and 945 LTE. Love the new 945. The only thing lacking for me is ski touring (is there a hiking mode?) and surfing and on this watch. I think I may go for a fenix or enduro. Is there any need about an upcoming fenix update? But the 945 is a serious contender but just lacking a few sport profiles. Battery Life is really good (compared to my Apple Watch) except in LTE mode which is to be expected. Like the yellow strap too. 😎
@mlegrand
@mlegrand 3 жыл бұрын
I moved that yellow strap from the 935 to the 945. 😆 I don’t have any details on the next Fenix. It might be a while. There are hiking options on these watches but any running or walking modes would also work for that. I haven’t seen surfing on any of the forerunners I don’t think. 🤔 Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

@@mlegrand i guess I'll have to spend some time at the store to make up my mind. I'm between the 4s (style), 55 (battery) and swim 2 (swimming features). My main activity is swimming, but I know I don't really need every single feature for it (but of course i want them haha). It's soooo annoying that garmin hides some features from some watches (countdown start from the 4s or training effect from 4s and 55).

Hey! Awesome reviews on this watch (and also the one on Coros Pace 2 a bit earlier)!😉 I'm thinking of getting a watching primarily for running, hoping to train and work my way up to a marathon distance eventually. Both watches are almost perfectly in my budget range. But I'm pretty torn because I'm not familiar with both Garmin and Coros ecosystems. Just wondering which one would you recommend for someone completely new to these sports tracking gadgets? 😂
@mlegrand
@mlegrand 3 жыл бұрын
I think the Coros Pace 2 is pretty compelling if you’re planning to track a full triathlon. Otherwise, I really like the Forerunner 55. So if you’re mostly focused on running that’d be a great way to go! I’ll be in Boston this year for the race. My wife qualified. I’m really looking forward to it! @@mlegrand Thanks for your recommendation :) Yea I'm mainly interested in running for now. FR55 it is then! Most comparison reviews I've seen so far pretty much left it up to personal preference anyway 😅 All the best to you and your wife for your upcoming races :) I'm very very far from being able to complete a marathon at this point (let alone race it). The best I could do is probably a half marathon at this point and it won't even be fast 😅 But gotta start somewhere. I'm hoping a good watch can come in handy.

@@fearless5533 - it lines up with other Garmins but I’ve never tested accuracy of steps for these watches. I don’t have this watch any more but I’ll test a different Garmin to gauge accuracy.

It's 7001 if you subscribed? 😂 Lots of fun content coming up but it's hard to build a following on KZfaq. And with a smaller following it's a lot easier to get to know the people who do watch and comment on the videos 👍🏻

@@vinads1309 - I've got a few more watch videos coming up and a few bike computers videos with giveaways coming up as well. In fact, you should checkout the last 2-3 videos and comment on a few of those to win whatever stuff I'm talking about. I try to giveaway whatever companies send me to review. 👍🏻
