Very well done. Found your presentation to be tremendously helpful. My hunting group has been using Rinos for over 15 years now starting with the yellow 110s. I've been on the fence about the 750 but it appears the extra dollars now gets you a jump on some good advancements in the tech. Again, brilliant job on the video.

Hi, we are a group of hunter and looking for a good communication device, not the little radio that don't work in the wood. We hunt in a 15 km2. Do you think the rino is enough for that kind of hunting with dense wood and mountain ? or we go with a satellite device ?

Excellent video! Been using the Garmin Rino platform for about 10 years. We started out with the 120 and upgraded to the 600 series when they slashed the prices after releasing the 750. We line hunt/ still hunt most of the time and these just make it easy. It really revolutionizes a groups ability to "push" an area. Anyone interested in the Rino units should watch your video. A great explanation with the right amount of detail. Subscribed.

Isobars???? 🤣🤣🤣 You mean contour lines ! Nice demo vid, been considering buying a Rhino, I think I will now, as I didn’t know about the “sight and go” feature. That would save a lot of time searching for a deer that does a runner in thick scrub also the Buddy GPS feature is good safety, especially if some one got “snake bit” and you need to assist them Cheers

Hi Dez😊 great explanation. Can you please tell more how did you damaged the 650 by charging? Today I’ve used usb cable ( not charging one) as I wanted to transfer waypoints to my laptop…for the first time! The battery was not 100% full and now my 650 doesn’t work. Are you suggesting that prior to transferring data we have to make sure that battery is 100% full? I went and bought 750. Now am considering whether or not to fix 650. THX for any advice.

nice review on the rhino 750. do you have to calibrate the unit once you get to your hunting area
@BoltActionProductions6 жыл бұрын
Very informative review Daz. I too have had both units and bought the 750 primarily so it can be charged via USB. The only issue we have found is charging via the designated car or 240v garmin USB lead is significantly faster than using a USB lead plugged into a battery bank. So much so that we ended going back to using the AA battery pack when on backpacking trips. Interested to see if you have had the same issues as we have tried various leads and battery pack combinations only to find it took almost a day to charge the rechargeable battery.
@IntotheMountains6 жыл бұрын
Bolt-Action Productions yep same buddy. Not sure why but they take so long to charge. The propriety charger seems to be unique. Been trying a few things too but no joy thus far.
@BoltActionProductions6 жыл бұрын
Not a deal breaker but definitely a little disappointing when you discover this while on a trip. I have since purchased the car charger which is super fast. Very happy with the 750 and worth stepping up from the 650.

Hi there. I have been using a Garmin Rino (in NZ) for hunting 3 to 4 years now. Where can I find instructional videos that can help me to fully use it's features? Things like viewing my tracks on my PC when I get home from a hunt (on a topomap) so I can see the contour lines / bushy basins I have looked into, backing up my tracks (in case my Garmin gets trashed) etc

Thanks for the great video. Buying a 750 now. Btw what watch are you wearing? Cheers.

Regan Johnston hey buddy. Not sure where you reside but the 755 is not available in an Australian model. They have made us a stripped back 750 called a 700 which I did have a look at and it wasn't a very good option. Cheers daz

The only difference is a 100K TOPO map is loaded, and it gives you an 8MP camera that geotags the pix.

Hey Mate Great review! (finally someone who explains in detail) , Just wondering if you know if the radio can scan all or a custom priority list of channels like a normal UHF ? also wondering if the headphone jack is push to talk compatible IE: with a hand held mic/speaker system (not just headset compatible) as I'm very interested in this device but the manual on the garmin site doesn't explain things very well and skips a lot for some reason, you've covered a lot of the answers I've been searching for and its looking good so far, hopefully this unit will do everything I need, Thanks Heaps Best regards Mad (Ps: any comments on the bluetooth functionality or capability's could help also thanks again)
@IntotheMountains6 жыл бұрын
Mad Dude hey buddy. I've only tested the headset, it is a standard jack so I'd say it would work with any ppt device. The blue tooth stuff all works great however the things I'd use need mobile reception (weather etc) therefore are redundant as I'd just check my phone. The uhf does scan all open Chanel's but I'm not sure on a more detailed scan, I'd think not. Well not that I can find anyway. Hope this helps buddy
@maddude96506 жыл бұрын
Hey Mate, Thanks for that, I'm still leaning towards it, Glad its a standard Jack hopefully it will work with ptt, scanning of open channels will do although priority would have been a more useful, Long shot but Would you know if the bluetooth could stream uhf radio to a bt headset? if not its no prob's, I just can't find much more info out there or in the manual, You have the best info and review which has really helped! Thanks for your help and reply mate its much appreciated Best Regards Mad
@IntotheMountains6 жыл бұрын
Mad Dude hey buddy, yes the bt headsets can work with these. The company that makes ear plugs 'cens' do a Bluetooth kit. That said I've never seen one or tried it but have spoken to people that have done it to theirs. 👍

Depends on the country. Flat ground a few km's, in the hills it depends, if the other guy is in another valley 1km away, probably wont hear him.

I have a Rhino 650, Haven't used a lot . I have a Garmin Mini sim that has run out of subscription. Any tips on which way to go when it comes to Maps?
@DaintreeJD2 жыл бұрын
Should be able to purchase Garmin birdsey its a subscription for 1 year where you can download the satelight imagery for where you need it, even when subscription expires you still retain the downloaded sat imagery. Really worth it and i find better than an actual map. I gwnerally export shape files that I create from QGIS to show boundaries etc. Helps with hunting and keeping off someones property, I use it for surveying specific areas.
