pretty much. even garou admits that he would have died there. its hard to say if he still had that fighting spirit buff when he went to protect his sister, but he was definitely dead right before that.

@@mg77045 at the point in the fight that the girl yelled out, metal bat had gotten so strong that garou would have been unable to deflect his attack, and would have died. in fact he notes that right before he first knocks him out when metal bat was using his hurricane attack, that his hands were damaged and shaking, and that he barely was able to do it. that attack would have caved in his skull and garou would have died. additionally if garou attack the girl its very likely that metal bat would have broken his promos and continued fighting garou, and as I said earlier, would have ended badly.

The fatigue didn’t do much of anything, the reason he lost is because the fight ended at his peak, and his ability is that his power grows as he gets hurt.

Not exactly. Metal Bat gets a zenkai boost IN battle but the effects kind of wear off after the fact. Garou will get a zenkai boost in battle and still be stronger after the fact. He's like a video game character, he gains EXP from every battle and he'll even mimic the moves of people who made an impact on him. Garou's genius is pretty frightening

To be fair, metal bats only chance of winning was if he was able to land a nasty sneak attack, which is only possible if garou thought he was dead. Sure, garou would struggle with a far more aggressive and pumped up metal bat, but he would not lose because metal bat didn’t even get garou to bleed before. And knowing garou, he wouldn’t take second chances and once he finally takes down metal bat a second time, he’d make sure he’s finished off by pummeling his head into the concrete the same way he did to mumen rider
