Garrett AT Gold nugget hunting

Heres a video of me & my dog cobra nugget hunting with the Garrett AT Gold in the Northern Arizona Desert
im loving this unit & its many features
the AT Gold is a very sensitive unit for small targets like gold nuggets
in the video im running the unit at full sensitivity so its a bit chattery
if you reduce the sensitivity a bar or 2 it will run smoother.
no nuggets were found during the filming but i got quite a few targets, & many nuggets have been found in this location.
the spot im hunting in has been pounded by many detectors.
yet i am able to still pick out targets & the at gold will sooner or later will find me some gold.
patience is the trick to finding gold
& finding the right spot where the gold hangs out.
i will try to do more more videos on the AT Gold

though I had some problem with sea water It also kzfaq.infoUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

This king of buying one of these,Ill probably use it most in the woods,along Rivera and creek bottoms. Hoping I'll be able to get it set so I'm not picking up all the iron.can you set it so you can still hear iron but it won't register?

I believe you can tune out hot rocks in ground balance window using the iron disc +-

I concur with "frank" on this. The default Ground Balance Window of 2 in All Metal mode sometimes isn't enough in hot rock beds. Hit Ground Balance, then press Iron Disc+, then Ground Balance. Do another ground balance and a sweep of your rocks. I've used my AT-G in both streams and tertiary benches over in CA. I have been shocked at it's performance to find sub-picker sized flakes. People believe you have to run wide open but you'll find way more gold if you run more stable and sweep coil more slowly

I like how you don't use the headphones, my hearing is kinda lopsided and headphones drive me crazy. I've owned the AT gold but I found only lead and coins. I barely have found .6 grams in 20+ times sluicing so I wasn't exactly in a good area, I like how you are doing it in the desert, you can totally find gold where someone has never been, where as the river is a funnel, not always but you get it. I got a detector from hurting just digging, and I sold it because I was hurt. I'll get one soon!

Just a quick tip. Before discarding the dirt in your hand check that too as there maybe 2 pieces of gold in there. And your dog is pretty awesome. Happy hunting!

Iron audio is great for detecting irons in all metal mode, then you don't have to dig as much.

Your machine is running way too unstable! Lower your sensitivity until it smoothness out more. You are missing those faint targets.

If it is a metal detector designed to find gold I don't understand why you have to dig all of these tiny lead pieces and brass casings? Seems those would be almost everywhere and a huge waste of time to be digging all those.. is there a metal detector that discriminates those out or are they too close of a signal to gold?

@@wltdwiz oh okay I understand now after watching a bunch of videos but it sure seems like technology should be able to decipher between metals much better than this? I'm not sure what it's called like spectrum analysis or something those machines that tell the exact content of each metal at the jewelry shops why can't they incorporate that technology into a metal detector so you can even see on the screen the exact content before you dig?

Its a very rich rock full of different minerals. Detectors that has no ground balance could be fooled, but a fisher like my detector cannot be fooled by this stones, since it has a ground balance.

its a out of place rock containing more or less minerals than the ground they can give a negative signal or a positive signal depending on the rock

It's great that this author is out there, but am I the only one who finds his voice indecipherable? Is this really 28 FULL MINUTES of over-modulated, super-loud beeping and a voice that is somewhere buried underground? Finally - it looks to be over - and the guy DOESN'T FIND anything? Could it be his scan-arm style is akin to "Flight of the Bat?" Did I just lose 28 minutes of my life? And not learn a damn thing? Dude...please do the community a favor and save stuff like this for the 'B' role, OK? No foul intended...

give the man credit, for trying, ou don't always have Ideal conditions when your out hunting, try it some time, then mabey you will see it's not good to complain,.Like the old saying goes, Put yourself in the other persons position,Then see what it's like, Hope you make it O K, sincerely, 79 yrs old & still going,
