It just plain makes me feel good seeing a trad'l jazz drummer enthusiastically pointing& geeking out on the same things I geek out on as a death metal drummer watching the heavyweights of our genre. One positive aspect of internet world is that it makes possible a universal community, where Seb Lanser et al aren't just obscure(_obscura_?😉) provincial talent known only to a certain sound, scene or region, but can take their rightful places as giants in the world of drumming, eligible for being the topic of conversations between drum enthusiasts of all stripes, like one is generally able to discuss your Copelands, Bozzios, or Gadds.

Obscura, How not to love it ? I have noticed some days ago, that the thing abount the obscura is not about the great musicians and what they play. They have something about how sophisticated they are, look at that clean guitar, the fat fretless bass, and that so well tuned drum set. Moreover, look at the sound production, mixing and stuff, how well made they are. These guys rule the entire death/prog scene nowdays by far imo.
