I found the steady delay between moves helpful and instructional as I was able to think where I'd go and have it confirmed or denied by what was then played. It allowed me to think

Just randomly came up on my feed. Really loved this. I kept up with both of them at this pace until they had 8 pieces each. Then it all went a bit fuzzy..🤣 Loved chess at school, joined local club and enjoyed the competition. Tried to teach my Son the rudimentaries and he took it up also as a child. Doesn't touch it now unfortunately. Apart from a few snide comments from the KZfaq trolls, I've noted some great observations in the comments. Subscribed. Thanks for sharing.

Very subtly but brilliantly played by Kasparov. Just patiently using his material advantage to box his opponent in. This match perfectly illustrates the power of a rook and bishop together against a less dynamic combination.

How efficient was Kasparov's endgame? Did he miss opportunities to end the game sooner? It looked highly efficient to me, but not good enough to be sure...
@rokanza229316 күн бұрын
Well I'm sure that if you put it through Stockfish 16 you would see some inhuman combination that he " might" have done but since we are human after all + on the most stressful event of his life and quite possibly low on time then I would say that his endgame was very efficient indeed.

mate on the board. the white pawn was on a dark square so karpov’s bishop couldn’t touch it, effectively eliminating the h6 and f6 squares as places to run to safety, and the white rook and bishop we’re going to force the king into the corner where it would be checkmate

@BB-wb9lv8 ай бұрын
@@munirabul7ozz I don't know, because I'm not a very good player. But I found this comment from a master. ' Kasparov finally penetrated Karpov's defense, pinning down his king. Florida chess master Gary Sanders said white's winning plan in the final position would be to play Be5, followed by Rc8+ and checkmate on the h8 square. If Karpov tried to stop this attack with Ng7, Sanders said, Kasparov could play Be5 and exchange pieces to gain a clear win.'

Rc8,kh7,be5 threatening mate, only move is kg7 which is pinned so kf8 would win the piece Don’t laugh if that’s wrong, that took me ages to work out😂 Edit: it’s black to move 🤣🤣ignore all that, I’m not doing it again
