ive actually never seen anyone do that. is it actually applicable and useful to kick moving kick? People kick the supporting leg as its stationary and easier as a target and multiple kicks will wear down that supporting leg later on in a match ( supporting leg has to bear the weight of body + your kick )

@@wafzaf It is applicable and I have used that technique many, many times. Think of it the same way as a block and it also has the ability to do a lot of damage in that regard. I'm Kyokushin 5th Dan, started training at 12yrs old in 1982 under Soshu Shigeru Oyama in NYC and have been teaching since 1985, as a green belt teaching the beginners and more advanced as I went up in rank and experience and lots of tournament experience as well, including being selected as an alternate for the 1991 World Tournament. Unfortunately, I never got to fight. Another one that is not commonly done although it's legal, and a rather nasty technique, is you can also punch your opponent's legs too.

@@squatch570 well, not saying it don't work but I think if it was really good it would be in tournaments. But no one uses it because it don't work that well. Any world level tournament champions use the technique you're talking about? This guy came 4th in the Kyokushin no weight division world tournament at about 155 pounds, so we know what he does actually works.

@@cktjoeng1747 I have the same world level experience and although I didn't fight in the 1991 World Tournament (as an alternate), I did compete as well in the All Japan in '92 & '94. It's not that it doesn't work, it's that some techniques are overlooked or not thought to be used and fighters tend to overly train and rely on a lot of the same techniques everyone else does. Being trained fairly close to the source of Kyokushin in the earlier days by Soshu Shigeru Oyama, he imparted a lot of old school things not seen or practiced by many other instructors. When Soshu completed the 100 Man Kumite, he punched his first opponent straight in the face, and even though it wasn't allowed for the 100 Man, it was effective in letting his remaining 99 opponents that he was there to do business. Even Mas Oyama, Sosai was impressed by that unexpected and unorthodox approach.
