If you can get a crowd to sing EVERY WORD to your song, you’ve accomplished something. There are few artists who can attest to being able to do that.

Garth Brooks was a special thing between my dad and me. And by far his two favorite songs were the extended versions of friends in low places and the thunder rolls. My dad passed when I was 11. I can't listen to these songs without crying but I still keep listening to them because of what it stands for. I'll never stop listening to Garth it's a tie to my dad. Garth and the Broncos.

I got the pleasure of seeing Garth when he first came to Chicago back in the '90s...to say that he is a great, amazing, and wonderful performer is an understatement. He was definitely more of a showman he was a crazy crazy Showman like crazy and then he went on a goofy category changed his name and did all this winter stuff and then I don’t know what that was about but then he came back and and his family gonna have to go back you’ll have to go back in time about heck 30 years

This Garth Brooks song has always been dedicated to my first wife and her family. It was a short marriage and they put my family and myself down at every opportunity they could. When she took off she took my son. (who was only about 15 months old) It has been over 40 years and nothing has changed except they have managed to convince my son that I was not his father. The song still fits. (thankfully I have had a fantastic wife and daughter who makes it so I never look back - except to giving thanks to the past when this song plays. I have learned however if your second marriage succeeds your first was not a complete failure.
