Jonathan King was incarcerated for similar tricks as GG. He was Saccarin at this time, early 70s. He wrote some great songs too. Well they are Artsy....which more than often, attracts a certain type. At the time though, we normal youngins just enjoyed the music.....Come On, Come On...man.

The Band released 3 albums,"Hey" "Rock and Roll Dudes" and "Listen to the Band".Hey was very much a "Glitter" sound album.Rock and Roll Dudes much better,all songs written by Shephard and Springate i think.The last one was patchy.An attempt by the band to move away from the "Glitter" sound all together..Then they released "Paris Match" as the "G Band",which is kind of disappointing.A complete move from any Glitter influence.

John Springate of the Glitter Band said it best in regards to the band being "guilty by association" and whether or not they knew what Gary was up to. He said, "No. There were two camps. He (Gary) stayed at the Royal Hotel, We stayed at the Holiday Inn...He drove to the gigs in stretched limousines, We rode in the tour bus... He made millions, We were paid musicians. We were NOT comrades or mates with the guy. It was all about HIM and We who had all the musical talent were left on the sidelines."

Yes it's imperative that John Springate has brought the GG problem to light and to rectify that Glitter was on a limo trip while John and the rest of the Glitter Band were binding their time to breakaway and become what they were. The Glitter Band outsmarted the wrong one by releasing there own material. I don't think Bell Record's were coming clean with the Glitter Band from day one as regards the limo and the bus divide. The massive budget they were giving the wrong one and giving the Glitter Band dishwashing wages. Surely behind the scenes as being employees I would have to think that John, Gerry and the rest of the band squared up to Bell and that they were the real diamond in Bell Records roster. They surely must have then started to reap the financial benefits and without the Glitter Band - I think Bell Record's would have gone out the game earlier than when Bell evolved into Arista Records. The rest of the bands on Bell didn't have same impact as John and the other members. On an end note from me - The Glitter Band were the best glam rock band in what was the glam rock era i.e Slade, The Sweet. T.Rex etc.

Musically, the basics of GG songs followed the same pattern. That said, it was strangely addictive, in that it had a tribal beat to it. The Glitter Band outshone in keeping the initial riff going for sometime before Gary sang, thus building a steady attraction in us waiting for the song itself. This is particularly evident in songs like Rock and Roll pts 1 and 2. A clever use of hype for the main event.

Честно говоря, до этого его не слышал и не видел. Только те пацаны которые занимались музыкой говорили есть такая группа Гарри Глитер. И то это было в 79 году. А увидел только сейчас в 2019году. Это явно перезалив. Качество лучше в разы. До этого все мутно было. Походу это самая лучшая вещь. Да в 73 году это звучало потрясно! Мне тогда только 7 лет было...

yes, In January 2015, the trial against the musician began. Glitter has been charged with multiple counts of sexual offenses against a minor, including seven counts of lewd behavior and one count of attempted molestation.
