As a German, I don't really care about criticizing other nations or telling them what's wrong. But it's basically always the same with England when it comes to the World Cup or European Championship. The team is always completely overrated in their own country by the media, experts and many fans! It's not new! And that despite the fact that as a nation we haven't won a single title in over 60 years! And regardless of that, you count yourself time and time again as one of the big favorites for a title! It may be that the Premier League is the best league in the world, and that may blind many people when it comes to the national team, but the players from abroad largely make the league what it is. Many people forget that. But they only play in the clubs. In the national team they don't play next to you or in front of you. There you are among yourselves, so to speak. Maybe that's not enough quality to be at the top... But when it comes to arrogance and overconfidence, England is definitely at the top. Maybe you should start baking slightly smaller rolls and learn to assess yourself properly! That might be a first step in the right direction...

You guys need to understand if all the players are playing below their norm it’s the manager not the players and that’s a fact. It’s what’s said in the dressing room it’s what’s being done tactically.

Why cannot southgate see what everyone else can see, this happened years ago with Lampard and Gerrard trying to fit both into midfield and now we have Bellingham and foden, to put Foden in and keep bellingham he's shoe horning Foden into the left wing (A position he plays least in) and it's not working. So he either makes a sacrifice with one of those two or we keep playing this boring side to side football without any intent. England are crying out for some width (What was the point in bringing Gordon on for 3 to 5 mins at the end of the game?) The minute he was on the first thing he did was to take on the full back (ok the ball went out) but the intent was to take on the player directly, this has been missing, then he played the pass of the game through to Mainoo/Kane then to Palmer and a shot was taken.(Gordon should have come on with Mainoo) Mainoo changed the game when he came on so the way i see it. Midfield should be Rice/Mainoo then Foden or Bellingham(or give someone else a shot) and the front 3 of Gordon/Watkins or give Toney a go then Saka or Palmer on the right. Kane keeps dropping into mid which is unbalancing it, stay up top. Oh! and we have no leader on the pitch someone to call the shots, we are all over the place with virtually no shape. Our group should have been a 9 point 3 out of 3 wins, if the group had France or Netherlands or Italy/Spain we would be out or the results wouldn't have seemed so bad (But Serbia/Denmark and Slovenia only 1 win and 2 scored thats bad as it gets).

As an Englishman I've been saying this through the last four tournaments (inclusive of this one) but I was simply branded a "hater". England have not delivered a SINGLE good performance under Southgate, they've coasted into the latter stages of tournaments and failed when it really mattered by still not really turning up. Croatia - there for the taking, should've battered them, Italy - sub-par and there to be beaten and France - disappointing on the night and we should've smashed them tbh. My days, that was below par. When PAlmer came on, we had spark. Gordon, more spark. Gordon got 3mins. What was the point?? He showed in those mins what he could bring, that's why he was chosen, and we wanted to win the game, so what was the point? He would score in 1min?? He's good, he's not THAT good. Foden should have gone from 60mins. Every time he stepped up to the freekick, I moaned. Hardly let Trippier in, yet bowed to TAA. Saka fizzled out 2nd half, AGAIN, should have gone on 60 with Foden. Right changes, made too late. Bellingham and Kane too, should have gone, IF we wanted to win. The others were OK. Our attack four are lethargic. Rice could have gone, too, for Mainoo, why not? ?He was hardly in the game like Gallagher, so he's had two games, take him off. Gallagher could have stepped up, CDM, let Mainoo intercept and go forward. Even TAA got 6mins, was passing forward into space, had a go off target. Palmer had a superb chance on his left, should have ripped leather off the ball along with the net and Oblak. I tell you, either Watkins or Toney on for Kane, bet you they'd be biting at the chops like hungry dogs. So much on about Bellingham, then more after the first game, but since then, nothing. I wonder if frustration is settling in. Is he too tired and not saying anything? Just wants to be selected? Whoever it is we face Sunday, he wants to change the attack four, even drop Rice. Rice giving it large about not caring about what is said about him, he should. That way, he takes it in and gets constructive. The worst performance by this England team in the tournament so far. I was sat watching that game just thinking of all those poor England fans there at the stadium watching that borefest. People pay hard earned money on flights, match tickets, hotels, and they have to sit and watch that. We were unfortunate to have the goal ruled offside but it was as if from that point we just threw in the towel and just gave up. I got up and started doing some washing up in the kitchen halfway through the second half. It was that bad. It's only by some miracle that we've topped the group and I suppose we can be grateful we've avoided having to face the Netherlands in the next game but my god there needs to be some changes from here or that England team ain't bringing it home.
