Rest in peace, Gary Moore... so sad of a day... your guitar stays with us, and you shall live trough it. Farewell...
† Gary Moore was found dead in February 06 2011, while on vacation at Costa del Sol, Spain. †
- - -
Gary Moore and friends performing "Whiskey in the Jar" in the "One Night in Dublin: a Tribute to Phil Lynott" concert at The Point Theatre, Dublin, Ireland, August 20th, 2005. [Part 9/10]
This song is a real classic, and is also famous for the fierce Metallica cover.
---
Phillip Lynott was the bassist, lead singer, lead composer and frontman for the band Thin Lizzy, in wich Moore played for some time too.
Gary Moore (was) a renowed guitar player, his style ranging from Heavy Metal and Blues to Country music.
Eric Bell: "the only guy that can play this song".
With no further ado, enjoy this song in high quality, and see all the other parts of this historical concert in my channel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gary Moore e amigos na performance da música "Wiskey in the Jar" no concerto "Uma Noite em Dublin: um tributo a Phil Lynott" (tradução livre), que aconteceu no The Point Theatre, em Dublin, Irlanda, no dia 20 de Agosto de 2005. [Parte 9/10]

78 here. A singular moment in rock music...Phil Lynott singing and the band playing "Wild One" on 1975's Fighting. I was 29 then, every time I put the LP on the turntable, I couldn't wait for it and dropped the tonearm on that song.

Yes he was very respectful toward Eric, Eric wrote the guitar lead for " Whiskey In The Jar " for Thin Lizzy when the band was unknown it was the breakout song for the band, although it is a very, very old song, the lead guitar track here was written by Eric in the early days of Thin Lizzy.

There's never been another band like 'em, never will be. It's kind of crazy that I've never really gotten over Phyl's death. Thanks for alerting me to that priceless moment. Went back to see, and it gave me goosebumps. I don’t know if folks who’ve never played in a band of any kind can appreciate what’s happening when you and your mates realize you’re entering the Zone. If you want another dose, a much stronger one actually, check out this jam with Eric Gales and Joe Bonamassa. Their communication is awesome to watch and their music may make your heart soar like an eagle like Eric Bell and Gary Moore, but even higher. music.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mp-VgdyIq7qaZKM.html&feature=share

A fitting tribute to both Phil and the legacy of Thin Lizzy! All band members did a fantastic job. Absolutely amazing. That one minute solo Bell did in the original studio recording is still one of the best electric guitar performances of ALL TIME!

Lynnot gave a new dimension to rock music and was one of those rare musicians who fronted for a band as both an accomplished bass player and as the singer. It was his uniqueness that makes him a genius and Gary Moore as part of the famous this Lizzy tightly deserves to pay this tribute to this underrated rock music genius. R.I.P. Phil.

In all fairness, Phil had to work hard at his bass playing and wasn't a virtuoso on it. With that voice and stage presence he didn't need to.
