His ability to time people's dribble is what is most impressive. He literally has seconds to read and react and he does it an extremely high level. Great pick up for the warriors

Looks like he's been watching film, and has been reading the other teams' plays. Also, very active hands, and isn't being hesitant on trying to reach for the ball (1.3 steals/game, 1.6 fouls/game. both career highs).

How can you not enjoy watching warriors when they have a guy that shoots the ball anywhere the court then this guy that does impressive out of nowhere steals. Its nice to be a steph fan this year, finally he’s surrounded with new and good teammate he can rely on unlike last year.

Quick hands and uber athleticism make him a great off ball and on ball pest. He’s been a Gem for this Warriors team and his presence is always felt when he’s on the court. Would love to see them get the chip. Still remember when Gary was at at Salt Lake Community College this man has had quite the journey.

Gary Payton 2's defense could be the secret sauce that makes the Warriors win the Championship. One clutch defensive play can change the outcome of a game. One game can change the outcome of a series and that series can decide who wins a Championship. Warriors should give him a 5+yr contract.

checking GP2's stats in basketball-reference, his numbers are at their career highs while still on bench minutes (16.8 mp/g this season at the writing of this comment). He's been a great addition to the 2nd team, and a bargain for the Warriors, that's definitely still a title contender.

I like the way he shades the player at times. He gets kinda sideways but force them to go to their offensive weak side. They commit anyways and he'll either pick it, grab it or bat it! "I can watch him play defense all day." - Klay
