Same situation as Ngannou and Fury. Nobody expected Catterall to be still vertical after 6 rounds so gave him more credit than his hug and run tactics deserved. Switch off the dafty biased english commentary and re-watch the fight..

I agree.Catetral knew he was facing a good world champion Josh Taylor who won against the best light weltweights in the world so he played it safer to try and get the victory by spoiling and grabbing tactics.Thats not fair and square fighting.I saw Taylor throwing a straight right to the body and catteral blatantly grabbing his arm first lol.He did that regularly

Superb choice of guest. It would be brilliant if TalkSport could do a few episodes featuring forgotten men of British boxing, who have disappeared from the boxing world and are no longer in the media spotlight, like James Degale, Peter Culshaw, Chris Saunders, Lou Gent, Derek Angol, etc, who will have a slightly different take on the boxing world and life after boxing and a different story to tell in comparison to what we’re now accustomed to. Maybe even former cult figures like Neville Brown, Ross Hale, Scrap Iron Ryan and Steve ‘The Viking’ Foster. British boxing diehards would love it.

Don't know about JT "clearly" defeating Catterall but the fight was awful. Catterall is highly boring to watch. He was spoiling and clinching all through the fight. That was not a way to win an undisputed title.

If he thinks taylor won that bout he has no idea how to score a bout..my advice is get on a judges course like i have..and passed and did many amateur bouts..i gave it up when troy williamson got beat in thornaby...3 of the judges gave it to the other and myself abd a england judge gave it to troy...when u see terrible judging u have to give it up..

As casual American Jst became hardcore boxing’s boxing fan The British fighters are very interesting I like watching from fury & all heavy weight and Taylor, Kell brook , sunny Edward, Ben they bring a lot high fun leave of boxing entertainment inside and out the ring even the billy Joe fight with was hella good until he couldn’t see smh

Taylor lost the fight, but on second watch it’s much closer than I thought and certainly closer than what has been portrayed in the media. It was actually a pretty poor fight. Full of spoiling tactics from Catterall. Jack got the knockdown late and won some rounds convincingly, but there were a lot of rounds in the fight that could have gone either way and Josh edged his share. You’ve got to understand that the media want controversy. This outcome was massive for talksport. Adam Catterall pretty much built his career off the back of this injustice. His Fight Disciples podcast really took off from this point and now he’s a regular on talksport. First rule of journalism is - Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

I used to see Fight night on ITV in the 80s when George Collins was the star of UK Frank Warrens TV fight night boxing.If he was around now hardly anyone would know him.A 35 fight unbeaten run until he came up against Gary Jacobs in 1989,after Laing ko`d him in the next fight Collins was history..His brother Tony Collins,louder mouthed also had some success but his career was stifled by pointless international title defences.
