Gas is better for two reasons, no complicated Diesel emissions crap that always breaks, and also because it's a V10

In Europe you will struggle to find a city van with a petrol/gasoline engine, but in America, manufacturers will shove a massive NA petrol engine into anything they can lol. I’m surprised that big trucks don’t have 20 litre v16 petrol engines.

V10 is really the most cylinders you’ll see on a heavy duty gasoline engine. It’s also worth mentioning that the EPA regulations in the US prohibit a lot of what is possible with European diesel engines. It’s just more cost efficient to build a big gasser and not deal with the emissions or the fuel costs or the complicated mechanics and maintenance of a diesel engine. The largest petrol engine I’ve personally seen is an 8.1L V8 but I do know they made bigger ones. At that point, fuel consumption to power output is just not worth it. A diesel does much better for pulling

Depends on where you live, what you use it for, and what you load the truck. I believe most trucks like these use Diesel.

For me as an owner operator with semi and box truck with Amazon , I would prefer gasoline over diesel, low maintenance cost and easier to fix , diesel when they break they break hard .

I know a fellow landscaping enthusiast who drove an F550 with the Triton 6.8 V10. He said it got 6mpg at best and would SELDOM pass a gas station. Meanwhile, his personal diesel dump rig, dually and all, gets better fuel mileage than my mid size SUV

My problem with the 650 gas motor is that the fuel tank is directly underneath the driver side window, one small accident and you are burnt toast worse than when they had it behind the backseat, just put it in the fuel rails where it belongs after the first lawsuit they’ll be moving it same as in 1980s

All of my farm equipment is diesel besides for a few older units, and I just bought a new f350. I told the salesman specifically that I didn’t want a diesel and he looked at me funny. Diesel pickups were fine when they were simple without emissions crap on them. You can burn a lot of gas and do a lot of work for the extra cash the power stroke will cost. Nothing against them, but for some outfits the gas is the better way to go. My 6.2 in the pickup will work it’s bag off and ask for more. Maybe a little slower than a diesel, but what ever it cost me about 15k less. I can live with that.

Payload...gas is lighter than that heavy brick diesel. Choosing gas gives you a few hundred more pounds of payload while staying under cdl threshold.

Diesel will save money on fuel, even when it’s more expensive than gas. But how long is the warranty on the emissions equipment. Cause once the warranty is up be prepared to use all your fuel savings plus some to keep your emissions system running. I have a 2017 diesel box truck (3.0L turbo) not a Ford BTW, engine and transmission are still under warranty, but guess what isn’t (hint: emissions, 50k mile warranty, conveniently when things started failing). I drive around 20k miles a year and save around $1,500 a year on fuel over a comparable gas box truck (6.0 GM engine in most makes). $2000 in emissions repairs last year. Not including the tows and rental truck while it was in the shop. A failure will leave you stranded in limp mode. $1000 earlier this year and guess what just happened another failure and a $2,500 repair. Needless to say I walked from the service department to the sales department and worked out a deal. Pick up my gas box truck (GM 6.0) with an Allison transmission (5 year unlimited mile warranty) on Monday.
