This was such an AWESOME episode! We need more of these where you show how it's done. And please, do not be afraid to make an hour long episodes, do not cut so much of the action where you guys are debating what to do every single step of the build. Just let it roll. We want to see everything that goes down, this isn't TV, it doesn't need to be all flashy. LOVE the new Gas monkey.

Fast and Loud on TV got me hooked but this...Gas Monkey on KZfaq...THIS IS AWESOME! We need MORE! More details, longer episodes, live as it happens shop conversation! Make us feel like we are THERE instead of just watching a revamped Fast n Loud! Flashy is ok but we want true GASMONKEY! As close as we can get to being there without being there! I am loving following this build. Keep up the great work and the craziness! Never lose the Gasmonkey style.

@nbates723
@nbates723 3 жыл бұрын
@@solandge36 that style of wheels are held in place by wedges that fit between the hub and the wheel. As the nuts are tightened, the wedges are wedged into place. When you’re taking the wheels off, you loosen the nuts and then hit the wedges with a big hammer. Otherwise, when you remove the nuts, the wedges can go flying and hurt or even kill you

Like a house of cards- it was. As an observer (who has no idea how a bus is constructed), bolting the lifting frame to the floor beams (where the seats bolt down) makes more sense to me.
@wanchaicowboy
@wanchaicowboy 3 жыл бұрын
I was literately screaming out for them to put some straps on those fabricated lifting frames as the whole assembly was in danger of collapsing. Glad to see that someone had worked that out seconds later. Richard seemed to have more common sense about how to support the bus once it was separated from the chassis.

That was the most dangerous thing I've ever seen!! Those brackets used to lift the body were not safe at all and then to see people climbing around underneath the body and putting hands between the body and frame was crazy!!! Those long extensions welded to the metal bar going through the windows is unsafe. The extensions could roll and the body drop of the lift arms!!. I've done a few body swaps on SUVs in my life and I would have made something for the lift to attach to the lower part of the body to raise it enough to get a straight piece of metal to go all the way through and lift from the underside of the body. You got it done but please be safe!! It will fall in a split second without warning.

That lifting job was beyond sketchy and could have gone really wrong!..... Glad to see Richard actually involved in doing builds....Put some tools in his hands!

Sketchy is an understatement. Put angle brackets on your lifting fixture and strap the fixture to the bus so it can’t move.

Best GM episode ever. I don't need the 'magic of TV', I want to see the ups, downs, and everything in-between.

I would have just made peg extensions and lifted the body from under. That through windows, looks like a failure waiting. Get ahold of your bendpak dealer and get that lift top bar extended.

That was quiet entertaining. We love watching guys work while we sit like couch potatoes, yelling instructions, directions and advise at the screen. :}

As an old Towing pro…All they had to do was pull everything off, roll it out of the shop, have a heavy tow unit lift it up with their straps and onto a shop built chassis to roll it around. 😂

I think thats the most I have ever seen Richard work. Going to be a good build a good chassis to start with.
