Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a condition in which the contents of the stomach are regurgitated into the esophagus (the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach). This is also called "Acid Reflux." Gastroesophageal refers to the stomach and esophagus and Reflux refers to regurgitation or return of the contents. Therefore, gastroesophageal reflux is the regurgitaion of the stomach's contents back up into the esophagus.

I suffered from this for a month, i used omeprazole and gaviscon and antacid during those time but only apple cider vinegar (with mother) with honey in a glass of luke warm water cured my acid reflux. Use 1/4 of mixture before eating the meal and the remaining 3/4 after eating the meal. After trying ACV, my appetite went back to normal.

I take pepcid 40 mg and sucralfate or carafate 1GM. I take both before I eat and I'm good unless I eat a bite without them.

does GERD also cause burning feeling (exactly like heartburn) while you swallow foods . when ever i swallow specially warm foods i have a burning feeling on the lower chest. it goes away with PPI medication but comeback again after like 24 hours. I had an endoscopy and that showed everything is normal except just a little inflammation in my stomach . tried medication but only works as long as i have them . anybody have aby idea ??

You may now have an ulcer in your esophagus. I have more than one, and can pinpoint exactly where it is due to the pain when swallowing food. If its causing you alot of pain, keep taking your meds and get another checkup

I’ve been in a bad situation lately. I had heartburn for a long time I’ve since been on prescription meds but I now have GERD. I’ve been having trouble swallowing food and fluids I take a muscle relaxer for the esophagus to help it go down more smoothly and I have regurgitation burps and when I’m sleeping, food creeps up into my throat waking me up coughing and the worst thing is a couple times particles have gone into the trachea cause I wake up coughing and it’s hard to breathe and I get congestion from whatever entered there.

Leigh was correct! A red apple helps with Gerd, but if you have what feels like "your chest is on fire and burning" go to your fridge and drink the vinegar from a gherkin jar or onion jar! Then eat the red apple. This works without a doubt no matter how silly it sounds! The vinegar "puts the fire out" It saved my life one morning when i was in such excrutiating pan and my chest was on fire, it took me two hours of agony before i went online and i almost laughed at this treatment but desperate i tried it. Within minutes the pain subsided, my breathing became normal, so please do try this method. Never laugh at what doctors think is QUACKERY! Because all they are good at is peddling their poison!!

I will surely try your recommendation. I got hospitalized coz my son thought I was having a heart attack. I vomited fluid that was so acidic, had palpitations & felt fluttering in my heart & worst I got so weak that I can’t walk on my own. Then I recalled that I woke up early to go to the market & had a 3in1 coffee & small ham & cheese pie W/c was kinda greasy. I came home normal & while I was cooking I felt dizzy & that’s when I suspected I had gerd when I started vomiting. Worst part was it was followed by palpitations & then difficulty of breathing. When I got admitted in ER my BP was low & my glucose reading was 170. They told me I had Atrial Fibrilation w/c made matters worst. My cardiologist told me I have to be monitored in the hospital to prevent stroke or heart attack. The thing was I actually felt better was when I was given Pantoprazole & I didn’t eat in 24hrs & blood sugar went to normal. I suspect it was due to the acidity of the strong coffee, lack of sleep & I forgot to drink water since I woke up till I had the attack. I was discharged after a week & spent so much for my hospital confinement w/ all the diagnostic exams & cardiac monitoring. I hope & pray it won’t happen again. I was told by a friend that a doctor said that Gerd can coz AF - when there’s too much acid -it can irritate the heart. (The stomach has connection w/ the heart). Thanks to those who shared their home remedies! God bless!

I never had digestive issues before in my life until my pregnancy in my first trimester. I’ve seen women gaining weight Because of the pregnancy but in my case is different. I keep loosing weight Because of the nausea, vomiting 🤮 and not wanted to eat. I feel like every time I eat, no matter how small the meal is or if it’s just an apple or a glass of ginger tea... the food wants to come back up... sometimes I have to force the vomiting coz at times I feel like something is stuck on the oesophagus tube... I told my doctors but she keeps telling me that nausea is normal in pregnancy especially in the first trimester but I am now on my 2nd trimester and it continues getting worse. I need help!!!

Mine is crippling whenever I bend to lift, it is the result of the drug Tamsulosin for BPH, it relaxes sphincter muscles and allows the acid up the oesophagus I have the choice, inability to urinate OR crippling pain when working, all because of the closure of hospitals to treat the BPH with a short procedure caused by the political backlash to covid 19 scamdemic.
