#GatelyStadiumClassics Dunbar Homecoming vs CVS 2001 Part 1. September 28th, 2001, I was 18 and a freshman at SXU. I bought my first VHS-C camcorder over the summer but I didn't know what I was going to do with it. Later that fall, I read in the paper that Dunbar homecoming was coming up against CVS (those games were big back in the day). I decided to go and record the bands just to do something with my camera. This was the first band event I recorded. This is where it started 19 years ago. I never thought about where I got started until I found this tape. CVS Band director at the time was Mr. Newsom Oatis and Dunbar was led by Dr. Carl Cogar. #marchingbands #Chicago
