Elvis' "Girls!Girls!Girls!" co-star Laurel Goodwin shares her memories from the movie set on this episode of the Gates of Graceland.
Tom Brown interviews Laurel about her time with Elvis, her television and movie career and more. Laurel shares behind the scenes stories of playing football with Elvis between filming, discussing life and philosophy with the king, teaching him how to do the twist and how she enjoys meeting fans from around the world.
"Girls!Girls!Girls!" was released in 1962 and also stars Stella Stevens, Jeremy Slate, Benson Fong and Robert Strauss. It was directed by Norman Taurog. Elvis stars as Ross Carpenter, a fisherman who wants to buy a boat that his father built. Ross is also in a love triangle with two women: night club singer Robin (Stella Stevens) and the sweet Laurel (Laurel Goodwin). The movie was filmed in Hawaii and featured Elvis' hit "Return to Sender."

Laurel is so nice and is so right about Elvis and she even realizes that Parker wasn't the best manager for Elvis. What a sweet lady and for her to be there for Elvis, just awesome.

Her comment calling out Col. Parker, was spot on & almost 5 years prior to the movie Elvis starring Austin Butler which was about that very subject.

I had never heard of of Laurel Goodwin before BUT thought she was a cutie and one of the best co-stars in the Elvis movies. There was just something about the way she played her character. Glad to see this interview, I wondered what ever happend to her.. Thanks for sharing this interview...

Thanks Tom for this interview with this lovely lady. She is so humble in her disposition and on the sets of GGG she has a very demure image(not overpowering sexy but prettily attractive. Extremely lucky to be so close to Elvis.

Just learned Ms. Goodwin passed away today. She was great in her role with Elvis. So cute back then! RIP Ms. Goodwin. On a lighter note, she was the actress dancing with Elvis during the song, The Walls Have Ears, where Elvis got an erection filming the scene. It was not edited out, but you can clearly see 'little Elvis" when he turns sideways in the dance number.
