My sister lived in Germany for years and once when they were taking a boat cruise on the Rhine river she said there were ducks and geese that would wait for the boats to come by and surf the wake. She said it was very intentional. And there was a video of swans swimming out a way into the ocean and surfing in to the beach... and then doing it again. They are bored with just swimming I guess.

I think we were in Gatlinburg on the way to camp in the Smokies, sometime in the early 1980s. Still beautiful. When we went to Mammoth Cave on that trip, the caves where they had boat rides was closed due to flooding. They didn't know if the boats had survived. Water, water, everywhere. Wish some could be saved for the dry times or sent to those that need it.

We need to catch up and strap a GoPro on ya!!! The two bridges at CT has been one of my favorites in the park since childhood. CT was the first peak I bagged with my dad at 7 years old. I would always get to take a dip in the little plunge pool at the first bridge on the way back down. Definitely cherish that spot.

With so much development , ( I watch everything auto and they show a lot of neighborhoods in mountains etc) im very concerned about landslides. We’ve had a few small Ones on the nc side where I live. So many hillsides are being clear cut and bulldozed and more houses taking up more land. Not a good combination for ALL the rain the smokies gets.
