Everglades battle of the titans, gator vs python, who wins?? Well it really depends on who gets who first!
~~~You can come swim with me and Casper! If you want to come join you can book online now, go to www.crocodilechris.com Let me know if you want to go! Observation and photos only at @evergladesoutpost and tour participants are separated from gators by safety fence. Remember all the gators you see me working with are rescue nuisance gators, caught from the wild as big as you see them now! The state kills 7k-8k each year. We volunteer our time to catch & rescue them and bring them to sanctuaries, unpaid. Wetsuit by @cressi1946
Wow-In the first few seconds, Casper (?) swam up and you kinda nuzzled him, then I noticed his eyes immediately closed in a peaceful way. That speaks volumes for any animal!! For pets, it’s important that they relax, like with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. A nervous or stressed animal is an unhealthy and/or dangerous animal. Unpredictable at best. But the fact he swam up, said “hi”, and closed his eyes and swam on…amazing whatever you’re doing!
Wow that is crazy, it sucks that the pythons have to die and it also sucks that pythons will kill everything in their path. But it's nature. Do you think the whole thing about the python that had 110 eggs they found in Florida? I do know pythons can have quite alot of eggs. I think it's a tie between the gator and the python. Great vlog tonight
Chris, I love your videos. This one was very educational. Curious, which is larger, the Burmese python or the reticulated python? Is it true that pythons unhinge their jaw and work their body down the prey? I just love watching Casper. He looks so cute floating in his pool with his legs and feet hanging in the water and his toothy grin. He’s so adorable. 🐊
@erikm8372
@erikm8372 10 ай бұрын
I believe reticulated pythons are the world’s second-largest constrictor, after green anacondas. They’re the largest snake in Asia, or in the ‘old world’, so to speak…I’m pretty sure. The Burmese are close behind the retic’s, with some larger individuals maybe even reaching the similar size/ lengths. And yes-it’s true about the jaw, for many snakes actually. The majority of snake species actually do swallow food larger than their heads/bodies, all the way from tiny smooth green snakes eating worms to anacondas & pythons eating capybara & deer! African egg-eating snakes are about the size of a garter snake, and they swallow bird eggs whole and spit the shell out after; so yes, the jaw can expand!
@@erikm8372 Thanks so much for the information. I’ve seen videos of anaconda grabbing capybara. And also caymans grabbing capybara. Bless their hearts. They have it rough. Our zoological park has a reticulated python. It is massive and has beautiful markings. I don’t have a fear of animals. I respect them and appreciate their power and strength. The only thing I’m terrified of is a wasp. They scare me to death. Everyone thinks I’m crazy because I love dangerous animals but I’m afraid of a small insect. 😂 Have a great evening. Greetings from Tennessee.
The retic is the world's longest, and one of the 3 heaviest. The Burm is usually heavier than the retic, depending on how long each snake is, of course.
It's not unhinge exactly so much as they just don't have the same hinges? They have stretchy ligaments at the back of their skulls, and their bottom jaws do not have bone in the chin. So their bottom jaws are just v different
Gotta love the species instead of being afraid of it. Snakes here in Mississippi I'll be honest I don't wanna run into them but this is their land so knowledge of the area is better than killing everything you see. With snakes I'm always told they won't attack if you don't aggravate them. I'm told if you walk up to a snake take 2 steps back then turn around and walk away and you'll be fine.
I don’t know that any have ever been documented in the US. Maybe once or twice? But nothing massive. Wouldn’t doubt it though. They’re so big though that we’d start to see them I’d say. Or we’d notice a complete extinction of Florida wildlife from predation! Both invasive and endemic!
The suit is there because he spend a lot of time in the water with the alligators so it can become quite cold in there. It isn't there for protection as alligators bite are so strong it woudn't do any difference. He said it in a previous video if I remember well (I can't remember wich one though)
Large crocs and gators have to swallow rocks (called gastroliths), scientists believe, perhaps to help with digestion in some manner but also perhaps to help them sink to the bottom of whatever waterways,lakes,ponds,etc they live in.So they must have quite bouyant bods to warrant having to consume rocks,to be able to lower themselves in water!Crazy!🤔😜🤔🤣🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🐊🐊🐊
It's not a death row, it's a death ROLL. Crocodilians, including the alligator, perform a spinning maneuver to subdue and dismember prey. The spinning maneuver, which is referred to as the ;death roll', involves rapid rotation about the longitudinal axis of the body.
gators just simply haven't evolved yet to understand how to defend themselves against a pylon attack in water. They could easily defend themselves on land too if they just laid flat as soon as tge got attacked, which would prevent the python from wrapping around the gator, but this again goes back to lack of being evolved yet when it comes to python attacks.
