The Followers of Bhagvat Parampara do not downplay Diksha. For followers of Bhagvat Parampara Pancharatrik Parampara is included within the Bhagvata Parampara. Indeed even Sandarbhas talk about how if Diksha Guru doesn't allow one to associate with Sadhus then one must Worship that Guru from a distance and associate with pure Vaiṣṇavas. Here we see that Siksha gurus indeed are taking are superior position. The point of this example is that Both Diksha & Siksha is necessary, but the purpose of Diksha is also Giving Divya Gyan or the spiritual wealth, it the spiritual wealth is not present I don't understand how those mantras would be effective. Even though Shyamanand Pandit received Diksha from Hriday Caitanya Pandit, he imbibed the siddha Deha mood of Srila Jiva Goswami. Another example. There can be plenty. Point is not whether Diksha has relavance or not, Point is what Primarily matters is the Spiritual essence of Bhagvati Siksha, this doesn't mean Diksha is downplayed.
