I'm 89, and will be soon 90. I still do research everyday..... I'm just over 60. I still have thirty more years in front of me! Professor, you have rejuvenated my inspiration in the field for next three decades! What a prophetic man you are! May God grant you long long healthy years.

Dear colleague, “...until the age of 70, nothing I drew was worthy of notice. At 73 years I was somewhat able to fathom the growth of plants and trees, and the structure of birds, animals, insects and fish. Thus when I reach 80 years, I hope to have made increasing progress, and at 90 to see further into the underlying principles of things, so that at 100 years I will have achieved a divine state in my art, and at 110, every dot and every stroke will be as though alive.” 🎉

Just wanted to appreciate the baroque background score in this production. Very appropriate for a mathematician working on rigorising physical truths of nature. The Simons Foundation is doing an excellent job at bringing forth the stories of individuals who have found a lifetime of joy and mastery in their craft! And, of course, an incredibly well-deserved prize.

Bach is evergreen - There is no event in life for which there does not exist some appropriate Bach score. Indeed, mathematical physics benefits from the undertones of a Baroque melody (and I have found this in my own minor escapades too).

What an amazing person, to continue working everyday at such an age shows truly remarkable commitment and passion. Goes to show, being young isn’t everything in maths!

A deserved prize for the exceptional contribution of Dr. Lieb. And a highly appropiate presence of Bach´s music in the back.

Beautiful video. I use his book "Analysis" as one of my main references for inequalities.

Great! I have learnt a lot from the residual entropy of square ice, and also from other works of exactly soluble models by Prof. Lieb!

Incredible story and very inspiring, even great minds can be unsure at times. I can only hope to be as sharp as he's when I'm 89.

This video is wonderful. I like Liebs own explanations as to what he values in his own work.

What piece plays in the background especially the piano piece at the beginning? Is it a Bach invention? Thanks for sharing.

Mathematical physics is where mathematicians pretend they are doing physics.
