This song is a masterpiece! Everything about it is just as fresh as it was the day it was recorded. It's got everything....great instrumentation, great vocals, a lot of soul, amazing chord progressions, strong lyrics we can all relate to, and Gavin brings his heart into every note. I can't say enough about it!

This is probably the most important song ever to me. I was in my early 20s when I first heard it. Impressionable. Life has a way of changing people. Thoughts were in my head. This song kept me together and eventually taught me that being tough and having strength are different from being a bastard. Because of this song I stayed the good hearted little boy I was, just a little bit more resilient.

Just graduated college a couple months ago and I feel like I’ve playing the role everyone else wants for me. I feel lost and the future honestly doesn’t excite me at all with the path I’m on. Heard this song today and honestly I DON’T WANNA BE ANYONE BUT ME AND DO WHATS IN MY HEART. The hard part is actually executing it. Wishing everyone else in a similar position the courage, perseverance, and strength to pursue what they know is for them or at the very least - never settle for what doesn’t set your soul on fire, I don’t care if your 22 or 52…. It is not the fact that we all watched it at some point "in the space time continuum, it is the fact that REGARDLESS of WHERE you are in the space time continuum when you watch it, the message will stand true for the large majority of our population. I heard it a lot on radio stations when I was a teen back in the 2010s and didn’t even watch any of One Tree Hill until today (on HBO Max) and was surprised that this was the theme song. So basically I am here from One Tree Hill, but I heard the song long before I ever heard of One Tree Hill (which I only found out about fairly recently, like within the past few months).

I loved One Tree Hill when I was in high school. It got me through so many tough times in my life. As cliche as this sounds, I found some sort of comfort through it. When I watched OTH reruns after school on Soap Net, all my troubles went away. My favorite part of the week was waiting for new episodes. I have watched it 4 times since the show ended. I kinda forgot about it since I finished college and now working full time. I just came across it again and I’m so happy that I did. Time for round 5 haha! Thank you, One Tree Hill for everything 💙

In 2011 I went through a sad time in life I lost my girlfriend of 9 years felt like things were not going to be better. Started watching OTH and sounds stuiped but I felt like I was part of that group and things were just better. I still listen to alot of the groups that came on the show. That show opened up alot of bands to be noticed. Wakey Wakey, Oland and the moon. And alot others. And to watch luke and nate and brook and keith and dan and Definitely Payton. Made your day a better place.kids going through problems just like us.
